Favorite Running Gear from 2016 (+ Giveaway)

It wasn’t until I sat down to write this post, that I realized how old school I am when it comes to running gear. I’m still running with an iPod Nano (which I LOVE and will be really sad when Apple eventually discontinues them) in an old armband my mom gave me for Christmas years ago. I also use a Garmin 910xt I originally purchased for an insane amount of $$ when I was training for IRONMAN Florida in 2013. I can’t stand anything else on my arms or around my waist, so I happily run with my phone in my hand and tend to store my water and fuel along my route for quick consumption.

Like I said, I’m old school when it comes to what I run with. What I’m running in? That’s a whole different story. New shoes? Sports bras? And clothes? Bring it on.

With that in mind, here’s my top running gear from 2016:

Shoes: Brooks Launch 3

Brooks Launch 3

I was introduced to the Launch 3 earlier this year (after falling in love with the Launch 2 the year prior) and they’ve recently become my go-to shoe during marathon training. They’re a neutral shoe with DNA midsole cushioning that dynamically adapts to every step, making  them ideal for marathon training.  They’re breathable, springy, and  lightweight. I also love the streamlined look of the shoe and assortment of bright colors and designs.

Shorts: Reflective Chase 5″ Running Shorts

I actually just ordered a second pair of these shorts. Not only do I love the reflective design available with these shorts, but I love the cut and fit. The wide waistband and longer length are flattering and comfortable. They’re also lightweight and don’t cling to me while I’m sweating. I need to order 10 more pairs.

Sports Bra: Juno

I fell in love with the Juno while I was pregnant, and it remains my favorite sports bra to this day. I now own it in multiple sizes and appreciate all of the support it has provided throughout various stage of pregnancy and  breastfeeding. It’s the first recommendation I have for expecting or new moms. Heck, I love ti so much that I’ll wear it with just a shirt and jeans – that’s how comfortable it is.

Head:  Sweaty Bands

I’ve tried multiple headbands over the years, but SweatyBands are really what works for me. I have a basket full of them on my dresser and wear one during every run. I put it on my head and never think about it again – the true sign of a good headband.

Casual: Dash Hoodie

LOVE the Dash hoodie! Unfortunately it hasn’t been cold enough to wear for a run in Florida, but I have worn it around the house and it’s a great lounge piece. I own it in coral and blue.
