#WDWMarathonTraining Week 13

This was NOT a good week of running.


Yikes! It was actually a terrible week of running. Only two 3-mile runs and no long runs?! What happened here?!

I was sick. That’s what happened.

It was a terrible week of running because I felt terrible. My head hurt, my throat hurt, and I could barely breathe out of my congested nose. I’m such a baby when I’m sick, and this week was so exception. Once upon a time I would have been able to rally around a cold and stick it out for some decent runs, but I just couldn’t do it this time. The two runs I did manage were horrific. My body wanted rest and it was fighting me every second I was out on my feet.

So when the weekend came, I opted for rest instead. Sometimes we need to listen to our bodies and realize it’s not the end of the world if we miss a long run. This week is about recovery, next week I’ll get back to kicking ass.

I forgot to pause my watch when I was done so I don’t have a final time.

I didn’t wear my watch for this one – I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty.

For what it’s worth, the rest was worth it. I’m feeling so much better and ready to conquer another week of training!
