October Adventures

by Meghann on October 25, 2016

Hi friends. Long time no blog. I guess I have some catching up to do… 🙂

First of all, if you follow my Instagram account (which you should since apparently I’m way better at posting updates over there than over here) then you probably saw that after 4 long seasons with Iron Girl/ IRONMAN I officially gave notice earlier this month. I truly loved what I did and will miss it dearly, but it was time for a new adventure.

last day at IRONMAn

Last week I started in a new role with a new company. It’s a big change from what I’ve been doing, but I’m excited to dive in and really expand my current skill set. So far I’ve learned a ton and have enjoyed every minute. Hopefully this trend will continue. For now I’m keeping the new role private, but I will be sharing more of the adjustment period in my weekly training updates, as the new hours have had somewhat of an impact on my current training routine.

When I haven’t been working, I’ve been enjoying time with my family. Fall has officially made its formal debut in Florida and the amazing weather makes me want to spend all of my time outside. Floridians tend to be on a bit of an opposite schedule than our northern counterparts when it comes to hiding indoors. Instead of hibernating in the winter, we hibernate in the summer when it’s too hot to do anything outside. Instead we prefer to stay inside and blast the AC. After pretty much sticking inside as much as possible all summer, it’s been nice to finally venture outside and not worry about melting in the Florida heat. The cooler weather actually makes things more enjoyable and adventures tend to last longer than the usual 5 minute breaking point when everyone is just too hot and grouchy.

We played hooky at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival a couple of weeks ago.

Reunited with all of the family at James’ Baptism.

(it was the first time all four grandkids were together!)

Had fun at a local pumpkin patch.

Went to the zoo.

Lowry Park Zoo

By the way, the zoo is 100x more fun when it’s not a thousand degrees outside. A cooler baby = a happy baby and a happy baby = happy mommy and daddy.

And simply enjoyed playing outside in the sunshine.

I have a few blog posts in the hopper. Hopefully I’ll be back on a regular blogging schedule soon!
