As 2014 quickly comes to an end, I’m already looking forward to 2015 and what the new year will bring.
This year I’m taking a much different approach to my Run Happy Resolutions. Instead of focusing on new PR or distance goals, I’m going to focus on what “Run Happy” truly means to me. I think I lost that at the beginning of 2014. I made the mistake of registering for too many half marathons and got caught up in the stress of racing. This year I’m going to take a more relaxed approach, sticking to shorter distances and easier paces. I’m registered for one half marathon in January (I couldn’t help myself!) and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens after that.
So what does Run Happy mean to me? It means continuing to run through all the hard times and the good times. It means taking Maddie for weekly runs and watching her face light up when we hit the sidewalk. It means watching the sunrise in my final miles before work. It means having an hour to myself before the craziness of the day begins.
I look forward to continuing to Run Happy in 2015. Cheers to a wonderful New Year!

My idea of run happy is similar to yours. it’s getting out there and running for MYSELF, not because i feel like i have to race a certain pace or PR, or whatever. I love running, but when i get in the wrong mindset, it’s not nearly as appealing!
My resolution is to get myself outside (instead of on my spin bike) when it is cold. I am very guilty of dreading the cold so much that I spin instead of run. And everytime I DO push myself to get on outside, I always feel so good when I’m out there. The cold is a mental thing with me!

My run happy resolution is to make getting out and running something I look forward to doing, instead of something that I have to be doing!
Last year I made a promise to my husband that I wouldn’t train or run any half or full marathons because it took a lot of time away from our family time so last year I ran just to run and it was my Run happy year. I loved running my distance my time and being there for my kiddos more. This year we will see what happens.
My resolution is focus on and appreciate what my body can do as I continue to run!
Run Happy for me means running with friends, not caring about time and just enjoy being outside and doing something that someday I might not be able to do.
