Switzerland Adventure: Part III

by Meghann on December 8, 2014

For our final day in Switzerland, we decided to hop on the train and head to the Montreux Christmas Market.

Montreux Christmas Market runs from the end of November to Christmas eve and features 150 artisans and merchants that set-up shop along Lake Geneva. It was definitely an experience.

It was the perfect day to end our trip on. I know 5 days is no where near enough time to explore Switzerland. We hope to return someday and see a little more of what this amazing country has to offer.

All I can think of when I’ve read through your posts is how much people there look like they enjoy life! From afternoon race starts with hot drinks at the finish, to wonderful markets and lots of good food…sigh. I just love it.

Thanks for sharing your little journey with us! 🙂

Yum! What a fun way to get a chance to try a bunch of local foods. I’m drooling over that waffle! I also love that you got a chance to see those horns being played. Whenever I think Switzerland, I imagine the Ricola guy 🙂 haha

The Christmas Markets is one of the things I miss about Europe. The ones here are just so *meh* in comparison.

And you definitely need to go back and see more some day. You didn’t even get to the German part of Switzerland! I’m not at all biased, but it is the best part 😉

Christmas markets were my absolute favorite thing about living in Germany. The little gluhwein mugs you get, the cookies, the decorations, the lights, everything!
