A look back at 2014

by Meghann on December 31, 2014

Another year has come and gone. Where does the time go? 2014 flew by and I’d be lying if I said I was sad to see it go. It was a year full of big highs and big lows. It was the year we bought a house, welcomed a beautiful new nephew into the world, and shed many tears on our journey trying to conceive. It was a building year, the kind you have to fight through to make the good ones that much better.

Here’s a look back…

My sister made a big announcement

Turned 29 and was surprised with a tour of Magic Kingdom

Ran for the booty at Gasparilla Half Marathon

Surprised myself with a sub-1:50 half at Best Damn Race Orlando

Hung out with Aldi in Chicago

Got RAD in Orlando

Cried more tears than I ever thought possible

Bought a house

Met Owen and fell in love

Meals and Miles turned 6

Escaped to Switzerland for Thanksgiving (Part I, Part II, Part III)

Had a big family Christmas

My resolution is to be more open and honest in 2015, so be on the look out for more “real” posts about our TTC journey. A lot of my 2014 posts were sugar coated in happiness, while I was hurting so much inside – that also explains the drop in posts this past year. I already have some drafts saved that I’ll start sharing in January – stay tuned

Thank you for making me a stronger person, 2014. Cheers to a bigger and better 2015!

A Special Visitor

December 29, 2014

Guess who ran 10 miles this weekend?! This girl! Hey, that’s my longest run since June. I’ll take it! I’ve been slowly building my mileage back up since October and am thrilled to finally be back in double digits. So why all the miles? In less than two weeks I’ll be toeing the starting line more »

Happy Boxing Day! 🙂 I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, filled with lots of family, love, and joy. This year’s Christmas celebration was extra special thanks to little Owen and all the Christmas magic babies bring with them.   I mean, does it get any cuter?   It was my parents’ turn to host the more »

A Fresh Kitchen

December 21, 2014

A new quick-service restaurant in South Tampa has recently been blowing up my Instagram feed. It feels like just about every one of my local friends have tried it and every single one of them have nothing but rave reviews about it. Call it the power of social media, but after seeing delicious photo after photo, more »

Run Happy Resolutions and a Giveaway

December 18, 2014

As 2014 quickly comes to an end, I’m already looking forward to 2015 and what the new year will bring. This year I’m taking a much different approach to my Run Happy Resolutions. Instead of focusing on new PR or distance goals, I’m going to focus on what “Run Happy” truly means to me. I think more »
