I’m alive!

by Meghann on July 22, 2014

Sorry about that, I didn’t mean to disappear on everyone like that. I was up north for work over the weekend and was so tired when I returned yesterday, the only thing I could think about was my bed. It was a long weekend and I’m happy be home.

Maddie is happy, too.

I promised she was more thrilled when I walked in the door last night!

Ugh. To be honest, I feel like crap. I wasn’t able to fit any workouts in while I was away and ate too much fried food and donuts. When you’re go, go, go all weekend – and all you eat is junk – it eventually catches up to you. I just feel gross. I have a break this weekend, then I’m back-to-back traveling the entire month of August. If I keep up these eating habits, there’s no way I’m going to make it. Lesson learned: more fresh fruit and vegetables – less fries and sweets.

I just wish eating on the road wasn’t so hard. It would be on thing if I could bring a fully stocked fridge around with me and had a kitchenette in every hotel room, but unfortunately it doesn’t always work that way. Usually it comes down to pulling 12 hour shifts and dying to eat anything and everything at the end.  I was so tired and burnt out on Saturday night that I had an apple crisp for dinner. No joke!

Trust me, it was delicious, but probably not the healthiest meal I’ve ever had.

Again, I’m just happy to be home. The fridge is fully stocked, my running shoes are by the door, and I’m ready to fall back in my normal routine tomorrow morning.

Oh, and I have some news.  We submitted an offer on a house on Saturday and it was accepted! Woo hoo! More details to come!

Congrats on the home! Fingers crossed the rest of the process goes smoothly!!

And that Apple Crisp looks amazing! Dessert for dinner is the best part about being an adult!

I think time off from healthy eating is good for you, once in a while. Or at least good for your mindset! Hope you enjoyed yourself!

Two things
1: WHOA – that apple crisp looks amaze-balls!!!
2: Way to bury the lead about the house thing! You say it all nonchalant at the end like its no biggie! I want to chant: TELL US MORE! TELL US MORE! TELL US MORE!!!
Really though, I’m so excited for you guys! We started the home-buying process about 4 months ago and it has already been grueling!!! (and no house to show for it at this point, either).

You’re alive!!

I’ve found that even when I’m eating junk, if I drink a ton of water I feel a bit better (still far from great), then just drowning myself in sweets and dehydrating myself.

Yay!!! Glad you found a house. I’m excited to hear more about it. Congrats!!

congrats on the home!
I agree, I find it very difficult to eat healthy food on the go! It requires massive meal planning!
