Our New Backyard

by Meghann on August 14, 2013

Have I showed your our new backyard yet?

Derek, his brother, and his dad have slowly been redoing the backyard over the last couple of months. They started with a new fence, then painted the back wall, added a deck, planted sod, and added some plants.

Maddie LOVES it. I wish I had better before photos, but the fence was falling down and it was just a mess of weeds and dirt. Maddie would put her nose up to the dirt – apparently she’s too good for it.

Now she has no problem doing her business in the backyard, which is great when it’s late and taking her out would mean putting pants on. Now I can let her out back and no pants are required!

Our hot tub is also gone (finally!) and has been replaced with a new deck.

We’re waiting for the after-summer sales to hit and invest in some nice patio furniture for our new space back here.

Our next big house project is moving the washer and dryer from the kitchen to the garage. This is something I’ve been looking forward to since we moved in. I’m not sure who thought it would be a good idea to put a washer and dryer in the kitchen, but I am OVER it.

Let’s see… what else is new?

I finally finished the second season of Dance Academy on Netflix (and the first 5 episodes of season 3 via YouTube) AWESOME show! If you have access to NetFlix, watch it!

Now I’m looking for a new show to watch while I’m on the bike trainer. I heard “Orange is the New Black” is good. has anyone seen it?

Oh, and I had a WaWa Hoagie for the first time for lunch today.

Not bad. It was oddly fun to order it through a computer screen and I enjoyed the variety of toppings/sauces available. I also liked that it came toasted (I <3 toasted subs).

I think I would get it again. Still doesn’t triumph Publix, but definitely better than Subway.

Where’s your favorite place to get a sub/ hoagie?

I fly out to Seattle early tomorrow morning. I’m really excited about this trip. I love Seattle and plan to explore as much as I can (ha! I say that now, but I’m usually a zombie when I travel for work). Does anyone have any recommendations for running paths or places to eat near Pike’s Market?
