So…. I decided to get bangs today.

I’ve never had them before and figured why the heck not. If I didn’t love them I could pin them up or wait for them to grow. It’s just hair, no big deal. 🙂

This was my inspiration:

LOVED the look and can’t wait to try to curl my hair with the bangs. I’m just crossing my fingers I can make the bangs look as good as the hairstylist did. Gulp.

Have you ever got a new haircut on a whim? Did you love it or hate it?

I had a killer lunch today.

Two rye Wasa crackers piled high with hummus, turkey, and a mix of chopped artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and feta cheese leftover from making last night’s salad for book club.

The combination was amazing. It reminded me of a bruschetta with turkey. I still have all the ingredients on hand and wouldn’t be surprised if I make this again before the week is over.

I had some cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes on the side.

Dinner was an experiment that turned out pretty tasty.

I was pulling out the ingredients to make regular meatloaf when I noticed the apricot preserves and soy sauce and decided to give my meatloaf an asian flair.

Here’s what I used:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper paste
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • fresh parsley

I combined everything in a bowl, formed a loaf on a greased pan, then baked at 375 for 35 minutes.

The end result was delicious. I loved the asian flavors, definitely stepped a regular boring meatloaf up a notch.

The rest of the plate was filled with roasted parsnips and steamed green beans.

Good Night!

Wedding: Thank You Cards

I had a lot of fun with our thank you cards. I was inspired by a friend who had sent thank you photo cards after her wedding that displayed a photo collage of her wedding photos. I loved the idea so much that I knew I wanted to do the same thing for our wedding more »

Not Good

February 27, 2013

CrossFit and I did not get along this morning. My legs were still sore from the crazy number of lunges we did on Monday and I seriously debated staying home instead of going to class today. I went, but almost immediately wished I had stayed home. We worked on power cleans for our skill/focus and more »
