Wow, what a year. I think 2012 will forever go down in history as the “wedding year” in my family. Multiple bridal showers, bachelorette parties, planning three very different weddings, etc. etc. Yep, the wedding year. It’s like a domino set, once one goes – they all go.
Weddings and wedding planning were a huge part of my year, but there were other amazing things as well, like setting new PRs for both the half marathon and full marathon, running nekkid, exploring new cities across the country, and making some amazing new friends in Tampa. 2012 has been an amazing year, and while I’m really sad to see it go, I know 2013 holds some amazing new opportunities as well.
Here are some of my favorite moments from the last year:
I’ve been incredibly lucky this year and I don’t take any of that for granted for a second. I have a great family, an amazing fiance, and wonderful friends; I count my blessings everyday for that.
I’m ready to see what 2013 brings. I’m terrible with New Year’s Resolutions, but I do have a few goals in mind. In 2013 I plan to dedicate myself to training for my Ironman and finishing strong, setting a new PR for my 5k and 10ks times, and embracing my new role as a wife. 2012 may have been the “wedding year,” but 2013 will be the “newlywed year” and I know we have some fun adventures ahead with that title. I love Derek more and more with each passing day and I can’t wait to start 2013 with him as man and wife.
What are some of your favorite moments from 2012? Do you have any goals for the new year?
