Swim Friends

by Meghann on April 23, 2012

This afternoon I was introduced to a new (to me) tea shop in Tampa called TeBella.

TeBella is located on Davis Island – and as many times as I’ve run on Davis Island in the last year – I’ve only driven on the island twice and both times were to the dog park. To be honest, I didn’t even know there were little shops or restaurants on the island at all. I thought it was just a big hospital and a lot of nice houses. ๐Ÿ™‚

Courtney was the one who introduced me to TeBella. She discovered TeBella a couple of months ago and told me it was a place she thought I would love. She wasn’t kidding either, as soon as I walked in I knew I would love this place. It was quiet, quaint, and stocked with hundreds of exotic teas that had my head spinning on which to choose.

Instead of combing through all the tea options, I decided to order a Wicked Fog per Courtney’s recommendation, which was basically a tea latte with their wicked loose tea.

If you ‘Like’ TeBella on Facebook they give you 50% off of your first beverage purchase. Like!

The tea was sweeter than I was expecting, but very tasty. The steamy, rich drink was a perfect complement to the unseasonably cooler weather we were spoiled with today.

I also had a hazelnut macaroon since Courtney informed me that no trip to TeBella would be complete without one. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yum. ๐Ÿ™‚

TeBella was great, but the company was even better. Courtney helped me sort out my plans for Kelly’s bachelorette party that’s coming up (sometimes it’s nice just to have someone to bounce ideas off of) and I helped her select some recipes for an upcoming dinner party she’s throwing. Ok.. that’s a lie. Really I just drooled as she flipped through a recipe book and threw out a few “that looks yummy!” as she nailed down the details. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After we had our tea, I followed Courtney (like a lost puppy dog) to swim practice.

Yes, swim practice. I know, it’s been a while *cough* September *cough*, but tri season is around the corner and Courtney did invite me to meet with her swim group – what better time than the present to get back in the water?

I’m out of practice – very, very out of practice. I was nervous about coming into the group as a newbie, especially a newbie with a stroke that needs some serious work and times that are less than impressive, but they welcomed me with open arms. It wasn’t like I was new at all, they threw me right into the group and right into their workouts (catered to my speed and abilities, of course). I swam my little heart out and even participated in the mini relay race at the end of practice (and my group won!).   Swim practice was amazing. Better than amazing. ๐Ÿ™‚

The group meets every Monday and Wednesday and I promise I will be back. Swimming with a group (especially a group that caters workouts as we go) is soooooo much better than swimming on my own. Tons better. They make swimming fun and I think that’s what I need when it comes to pushing myself and sticking with it. Three cheers for swim friends!

I walked in the door hungry and tired just after 7:30. Derek helped me throw together a quick meal of randomness for dinner.

While quinoa was simmering in one pot, we had peppers, carrots, spinach, black beans, and corn sauteing in the other. Once the quinoa was done, we added the veggies, tossed in some pesto sauce, and topped our creation with ricotta cheese and green onion. Done and done.

It was pretty tasty too. Not bad for a quick meal.

I had a mini chocolate cupcake for dessert (Derek finished off the rest).

Time to chillax in front of the tv and get some couch time in with my two favorites.

Good Night!

Wedding: Waiting to Honeymoon

This morning I wrote a post on the possibility of registering for the Walt Disney World Marathon in January. The marathon is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year and has a whole bunch of special surprises lined up for the runners in its honor. BUT there’s a small problem – it’s a week after my more ยป

Something New: Corn English Muffins

April 23, 2012

I discovered something new at the grocery store yesterday. Corn english muffins? hmm… sounds interesting. The Thomas’ English Muffins were BOGO this week at Publix. The corn ones caught my eye, and I figured since I do love corn muffins, they were worth a try. The corn english muffins smelled faintly of cake right from more ยป

Good Morning!!!! How was your weekend? I think I’m still recovering from my sister’s bridal shower. <3 her! This morning I kept it easy with a 4 mile run around the block. I would have brought Maddie, but I believe she’s still recovering from the weekend too. She was perfectly content to stay curled up more ยป
