Can I just say that you guys rock?!
I *think* I have a lead on my lace dress mission. Fingers crossed. 😉
Also, One Day on the big screen? Err.. our little big screen? It was ok. The book was better, but would you really expect any less? I felt like the they rushed a lot of things to fit 18+ years of storyline into a 100 minute film. I also wasn’t a fan of who they cast for Dexter, I pictured someone very different in my head. Sort of blonde and sexy, not skinny and dull.
Did you see the movie/ read the book? What were your thoughts?
Luckily there were no alarm fails this morning. I triple checked before I went to bed last night and had no problems getting up at the regularly scheduled 6:15am time slot.
I hit the gym, walked on the treadmill, and completed NROLFW Stage 6A. The 10 sets of 2 reps of the underhand-grip lat pulldown are really starting to get to me. It just feels so long and drawn out. I much prefer longer reps and shorter sets.
Breakfast was my short-cut version of muesli/overnight oats.
The short-cut? Using a package of instead oatmeal. I just mixed the package of instant oatmeal with greek plain yogurt and topped it with peanut butter, walnuts, raisins, and blueberries.
The instant oatmeal only had to sit in the yogurt for a couple of minutes before it was mushy and ready to be enjoyed.
Short cut success. 🙂
Time to get this day started!
I had a toonnnnnn of blueberries frozen from the summer, and sadly I’ve just reached the end of the bag. 🙁 Yours are making me thing I’m going to need to buy the frozen (but overpriced) ones from the grocery store soon!

I thought it needed “more”. It felt stunted, and it didn’t come across very genuine. I wanted it to be better.

I often have raw oats in a yogurt bowl and it tastes pretty good, very chewy!

This is a great idea! I was cursing myself this morning for not prepping overnight oats last night… now I have a back-up plan! 🙂

Yay for having a dress lead! The dress is romantic, classy and a little rustic, sort of like how you said you want your wedding to be?!

Have you looked at dresses from Banana Republic? I wore an ivory lace dress for my rehearsal dinner in November. It was part of the store’s Mad Men collection. It doesn’t look like the store has any of those dresses in stock right now, though Ebay sellers have listed some, but BR does have other cream lace dresses on their site.
Those sets do feel like they take forever, but they are SO worth it when you finish stage 6. I definitely saw improvement in my muscle size and strength when I finished stage 6 – so much so I bought NROL.

Awesome tips for quick overnight oats! I didn’t see One Day but I heard it wasn’t that good. I loved the book–and that always makes me leery to see the Hollywood versions.

Nice! There have been so many mornings that I’ve woken up and been so disappointed I didn’t prepare overnight oats – I’m definitely going to use this!
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the movie One Day. I just finished the book and I find that movies never live up. I never would have pictured Emma as Anne Hathaway.
I must try yogurt in my overnight oats. It always looks fantastic!

Today I made “while driving to work oats” and ate them after my first meeting. A few hours was all I needed for them to get squishy! 🙂
Good luck with the dress!

I hadn’t read the book, but I liked the movie. I got teary-eyed at the end, which I typically don’t do at movies lately. The movie made me want to travel!
thats exactly what i had for breakfast! greek yogurt + instant oatmeal. definitely a great shortcut!

I’m going to have to try this short cut! Looks delish. And congrats on finding the lace dress lead.
I always get so excited to buy fresh blueberries during the winter. They look so delicious but taste so blah! They just can’t compare to fresh summer berries!

Haha, great idea to shortcut the overnight oats. I guess it would make sense that instant oatmeal would absorb yogurt/milk faster 😛

I haven’t seen the movie but I did read the book. I only found it to be okay. I couldn’t really relate to either of the characters, so I didn’t get as swept up into their love story as I thought I would. I’ll probably still check out the movie eventually though!

I loved the book One Day (and funny – my best friend’s birthday is July 15th, so it was a bit extra fun for her) but man… I had to turn the movie off. I thought Anne Hathaway’s British accent was brutal, it completely distracted from the actual movie. Have you read Atonement? Quite possibly the only book where I enjoyed the movie more than the book. If you haven’t read it, go see the movie :).
