Baby’s First Visit To Disney!

by Meghann on December 11, 2011

Disney just got a whole lot more fun today!

We gave Derek’s brother, his girlfriend, and their adorable 6 month old daughter an early christmas present and took them to the Magic Kingdom for the day. We. Had. A. Blast. Seriously. Who knew Walt Disney World with a baby would be so much fun? 😉

Marley was able to go on the majority of the rides, she was never fussy, and just had a blast going from one set of arms to another or just chilling in her stroller. She was an angel and I want to take her back tomorrow. And the day after that. And the next day after that. You know, when ever her mom or dad will let me. 😉

Plus, I know Derek enjoyed figuring out what Disney with an infant was like.

A glimpse into the future? Ha!

We left for Disney early this morning and made a quick pit stop in Lakeland to have breakfast with the grandparents at Cracker Barrel.

The Wholesome Morning Sampler instantly spoke to me as something that would fill me up without bringing me down for our long day ahead at Disney World.

Scrambled eggs and extra crispy bacon

A small yogurt parfait with granola and pineapple and an apple bran muffin that I ate half of.

Perfect.

With full bellies we were ready to go!

The plan for the day was simple – take a boatload of photos and let Marley experience as much of Disney as possible. I was actually surprised how many rides had no age limits or height restrictions. Basically every ride that didn’t resemble a roller coaster was fair game (i.e. Rachel and I had to sit out with Marley while the boys rode Space Mountain, but she rode everything else).

Marley rode both the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, but her absolute favorite was Winnie the Pooh.

She loved the gentle ride and bright colors, especially when the neon orange Tigger popped out of nowhere. She loved him so much that she had no problem talking her daddy into a post-ride Tigger souvenir.

She wouldn’t give Tigger up the rest of the day. They were a match made in Disney heaven. 🙂

We broke for lunch in Fantasyland and I ordered the Mediterranean Salad with olives, chicken, cheese, peppers, and red onions.

It wasn’t the best meal I’ve ever had in Disney, but it got the job done.

After exploring all we could explore, the group ended our day with mine and Derek’s favorite Disney treat at Main Street Bakery.

Derek and I had been talking up the AMAZING ice cream sandwiches at The Main Street Bakery so much, that we couldn’t imagine leaving without one. They really are our favorite thing to get at Disney World.

First you select your cookies.

IMG_3028.JPG

Derek and I asked for one sugar cookie and one chocolate chip.

IMG_3029.JPG

Then they pile one cookie high with two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream.

IMG_3033.JPG

Next they add the other cookie and squish it all together.

Finally, you end up with the world’s most perfect ice cream sandwich.

IMG_3040.JPG

There are no words for how much we all enjoyed this. No words.

IMG_3044.JPG IMG_3046.JPG

After that, it was time to head home.

IMG_3073.JPG

Some were more worn out than others.

IMG_3076.jpg

Not going to lie, I crashed in the car before we even got off of Disney’s property. Marley wore us out. I know I’ll be sleeping good tonight and I’m sure Marley will be too.

When we finally made it back to Tampa I made a really easy dinner with what we had on hand.

IMG_3088.JPG

A warm salad similar to the one I made on Friday with sauteed zucchini, carrots, and green beans, spinach, hummus, and walnuts. And a rice cake with peanut butter and pumpkin spice. I’m not saying the dinner made any sense, but it still tasted good. 🙂

Derek is sleeping on the couch. I think I might join him.

Good Night!
