D’oh!
Oh, well. This is why we have smart phones, right? ๐ I <3 my Evo!
Tonight Derek and I had a special visitor all the way from NYC – the amazing and beautiful Ashley!
Ashley and I met over a year and a half ago at a race in NYC and have remained great friends since. Derek and I have stayed in NYC with her and her husband, Bo, we’ve skied together in Vermont, spent the weekend at Disney, and met up at the last two Healthy Living Summits in Chicago and Philly. For being so many thousands of miles apart, we’ve been lucky enough to see each other on a semi-regular basis. ๐
This visit was more of a ‘right place, right time’ situation. Ashley and Bo are in town for a friend’s wedding and just happened to have some free time to spare with us (yay!).
Derek and I picked Ashley up from the airport early this evening and headed to a local italian restaurant for dinner.
We had originally planned on dining at a different location, but the crowds and awful parking situation quickly changed our minds. After a quick scan via the Yelp app we discovered Bella’s Italian Cafe and were parked, seated, and ordered in no time.
Instead of the usual bread basket, they started us out with some bruschetta.
I was starving and couldn’t eat my serving fast enough!
Next came the side salad with a balsamic vinaigrette.
And for the main dish I ordered the Rustica Pizza with roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, prosciutto, and cheese.
The pizza was surprisingly delicous. There was just enough toppings, just enough cheese, and the crust was perfectly light and airy. I give the pizza two very big thumbs up and would happily order it again and again. ๐
After dinner we drove Ashley home and said our good-byes for the night. Tomorrow I’m meeting her super early for a *gulp* 20 miler. Yikes!
This will be my first long run of the season with a friend and I’m looking forward to spending 4 hours chatting up a storm with Ashley as we explore what Tampa has to offer.
Good Night!
