Breakfast Is My Happy Hour

by Meghann on October 1, 2011

Well, breakfast is one of my happy hours. πŸ˜‰

IMG_4286.JPG

What is a happy hour anyways? In college it meant great discounts on drinks (hello three for one drafts at the cheap bar around the corner!) and – granted – it still means that (two for one margaritas all day, everyday at Chilis!), but it also means spending time with good friends eating good food.

So, today, breakfast was my happy hour – complete with good friends and good food (the mimosas didn’t hurt either ;)).

Maddie prefers the happy hours she can participate in. πŸ˜‰

A part of my brand ambassadorship with Attune this month was to host an Attune themed breakfast with friends, which was a little harder than it seems. Finding a weekend and time that works well for a group of busy girls is hard! We started with ten, went down to 5, and missed everyone that couldn’t make it!

IMG_4288.JPG

The spread ended up being a good mix of everything – Uncle Sam Cereals, yogurt, pumpkin bread, fresh fruit, attune bars, Erewhon Cocoa Crispies crusted french toast, mimosas, and more!

IMG_4285.JPG

The fall themed breakfast was perfect for the cool morning. I woke up pleased to feel that fall had finally made its way to Tampa. πŸ™‚

IMG_4290.JPG IMG_4292.JPG IMG_4293.JPG IMG_4294.JPG

IMG_4300.JPG

In true girl fashion, we spent an hour chatting before eventually demolishing the spread.

IMG_4311.JPG

My plate at a bit of everything. The french toast ended up being a huge hit (score!!) and I think Uncle Sam’s Cereal found a few new fans.

IMG_4314.JPG

We finished the party with more chatting, more discovering of how small of a world it is, and the promise of a pumpkin beer tasting (soon!!).

Thank you, Attune for hosting our happy hour this morning.

Maddie sends her thanks too.

She enjoyed her special breakfast of plain yogurt covered dog food and just about as many treats as 5 girls can sneak her.

What’s your favorite happy hour? (thinking outside the box of course!)

The trick is to start it on high to form the crust, then turn it on low and put the lid on to cook the center.

Ohh yumm…your breakfast looks amazing! Breakfast is definitely my happy hour. I always dream of all the possibilities I can make for breakfast the night before (even if I usually do end up sticking to oatmeal and a banana on most days!)

My favorite “happy hour” is the evening hour(s) with my husband—when we unwind, chat, and ya know, just relax and have fun after a busy day!

Looks like it was a fabulous morning and delish b-fast!

I’m so bummed Patrick and I couldn’t be there this morning. I’m even more bummed now that I see Megan was there! We met exactly one year ago this weekend – she was one of the very first people to hear about my pregnancy! πŸ™‚

My favorite happy hour is enjoying a beer (or two!) with my husband in the evening while dinner is cooking. Bonus points if we enjoy those beers outside on the patio!

Breakfast is my absolute favorite! That french toast looks so good!

In MA, happy hour with alcohol was banned in 1984 (figures it would be the year I was born! haha) but I do like happy hour with appetizers. It becomes a great, cheap meal.

In Georgia, they aren’t allowed to discount alcohol so there are no happy hours at bars and restaurants. Boo.

We tried a few on her today, but didn’t see anything worth buying. There’s a Halloween party at a local doggie store that I’m going to take her to later this week. Do you have anything for Margot yet?

30 BroccoliHut October 2, 2011 at 12:06 pm

I don’t have anything picked out yet–I just briefly checked out the costumes at Target. I liked the bumble bee and hot dog costumes πŸ™‚
