Auntie Meghann to the Rescue

by Meghann on August 24, 2011

Morning!

I’ve been called into emergency babysitting duty this morning. Auntie Meghann to the rescue! Currently I’m trying to type with one hand wile holding an infant with another – a LOT harder than it looks! How do Mommy bloggers do it?

Before the call came in, I managed to get a decent Pyramid Swim Workout in at the pool.

Warm Up

  • 250 easy
  • 250 w/ kick board intervals

Main Set

  • 16 x 25 @ :35
  • 8 x 50 @ 1:10
  • 4 x 100 @ 2:20
  • 2 x 200 @ 4:30

Cool Down

  • 100 easy

Total: 2100 yds

I was hoping to hit the weight room, but baby duty called. πŸ™‚

I had just enough time for a quick breakfast before hitting the road.

Now, I must find a way to entertain this beautiful crying baby.

At least she’s styling today. πŸ˜‰

NICE outfit!! That’s super cute! I haven’t had to babysit for ages, but I remember when I did and like you, couldn’t imagine how moms can hold a child and do other tasks too (without being super slow!) Have a great day Meghann!

Meghann,

When you swim how do you time yourself? Do you use a watch or does your gym have one of those wonderful huge clocks by the pool? I’m trying to figure out how I can do it.

Good luck with babysitting today!

13 Meghann August 24, 2011 at 10:39 am

My gym has big clocks, but I find them fairly hard to follow in the water. I purchased a $10 water resistent watch from Target and never enter the water without it anymore. Best $10 investment I’ve ever made.

Awesome, thanks!

next time you sit, have them bring the baby carrier, you just wear her while you do any/everything and she’ll be super happy and you can type.

Adorable onesie! A baby definitely counts as a weight routine… Although, I’d keep the exercises pretty simple- lifting up and down, no deadlifts, etc. ;P

And yes, being a mom is like doing EVERYTHING with one hand tied behind your back. Often literally.
