Almond Butter and Cheese Make Me Happy

by Meghann on August 4, 2011

I’m not sure why, but I have a slight obsession with grilled almond butter and cheese sandwiches.

I know it shouldn’t taste good, but I love it. Creamy melty cheese…. crunchy salty almond butter.. two of my favorite things in one. 🙂

Today I added some sliced carrots (pre-grilled on the good ole George Foreman) and some spinach to my combo. I also used Cabot Seriously Sharp Cheddar, which made the sandwich extra rich and fabulous.

On the side some sweet potato chips.

And a pickle

Rasa-Lila Fest

Back in April I had my asana handed to me at the first Rasa-Lila Fest in Tampa.

It was an amazing 8 hour day of back-to-back yoga classes that had me feeling more in tuned with my practice (and the yoga community) then ever before.

Peace, Love, & Yoga!

Turns out I wasn’t the only one who loved it – the whole festival was a hit! So much so, that Rasa-Lila Festival is coming to Orlando on September 10th!

Now, THIS I’m excited about! All of my favorite Orlando studios (Oh, how I miss Orlando yoga!) in one spot for a full day of yoga and fun?!? Count me in!

Even better – Katy and I have teamed up for the Central Florida event! We’re official sponsors (whoop! whoop!) with an official affiliate link (<– all money earned is being donated to something cool for the Orlando Lady Bloggers ‘Club’), an official table, and the official desire for a meet up. Score!

So, the question remains… who’s with us? Are you going to the Orlando Rasa-Lila Fest?!?!

I would’ve NEVER thought to put that combo together, but I may have to try it since you rave about it so much!

2 Sabrina August 4, 2011 at 2:49 pm

It’s official! I am going to have to recreate that for dinner, ASAP! Hm… I might twist it up with some sliced peppers!! Good thinking!

I’ve never put that combo together and probably wouldn’t ever have thought of it either. Sounds good though!

Get ready for some more harsh comments for that one! 🙂 I like your weird meals! On other blogs I’ve read “let your freak flag fly!”- yeah! Even with food! hah.

I want to try that combo out now–I love cheese + jam, so AB would not be that much different….right?!

I don’t live in FL but that sounds fun 🙂 Nice job on the gig!

I really want to go to the Rasa-Lila Fest, but I am super new to yoga. Is it still something I could enjoy, or is it tailored more for experienced yoga students?

14 Meghann August 4, 2011 at 3:35 pm

I would say it’s perfect for someone looking to get into Yoga because it’s so yoga-lovey, dovey. I think ALL yoga classes can be tailored back to a beginner level.

15 Cait's Plate August 4, 2011 at 3:34 pm

Those sweet potato chips look incredible. And I love paninis…I definitely need to eat more of them.

Why have I never tried this combo before? Have to put that one on my “must make” list.

Bring Rasa-Lila to Baltimore, and I’ll be forever grateful!

I don’t really like almond butter, but I thought I was a serious genius when I “invented” peanut butter and sharp cheddar grilled cheese in high school!

21 Mary @ Bites and Bliss August 4, 2011 at 4:50 pm

Whoa, that sandwich does sound magical! I’d love to try yoga outside like that. It’d be so peaceful..and even hot yoga if it were done here!

22 Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance August 4, 2011 at 6:11 pm

Aw I’m from the Orlando area but also happen to be a struggling student who cant afford to make it this year 🙁
I will be there in yoga spirit! I’ll make sure to do yoga that day and bond telepathically with the yogis

Looks like Rasa-Lila Fest is going to be awesome! I’m just starting to incorporate yoga into my workout routine, and it’s amazing. If only I didn’t live in China right now i’d come join you!
