Isn’t it amazing what a little paint, direction, and wine can accomplish? ๐
Seriously. Can you believe I painted that? I still can’t!
A couple of weeks ago my friend Kristin sent me an invite for a painting class event that supported the local Ronald McDonald House. For $35 you got a canvas, paint, step-by-step painting directions, and the feel good knowledge of knowing you were supporting a good cause.
Sign me up!
The paint class occurred at Painting with a Twist – a fun learn-to-paint studio that specializes in group classes.
Wine and snacks were heavily encouraged.
I like to think the wine helped bring out my inner painter.
Right, Kristin? ๐
Our objective: to replicate the beautiful Cherry Blossom Painting.
Ready? Let’s begin!
First: Paint a quarter of the canvas pink.
Got it!
Second: artistic white lines
Done!
Third: Break for dinner
It was BYO Food.
I brought a salad in anticipation of a long night.
- Mixed Greens
- Carrot
- Sugared Pecans
- Olives
- Pickle
- Hard Boiled Egg
- Parmesan Cheese
- Lemon Herb Dressing
Posed shot
And what I actually look like when I’m eating….
Ha!
I also snacked on some pita chips
And a few curly fries ( a gift from the restaurant next door)
Back to the painting…
It’s starting to come together right?!
Just a few flowers
My signature….
And I am done!
Who knew I had that in me?! It’s AMAZING what a good instructor can teach you.
And it wasn’t just me – check out the other amazing work from around the classroom!
In the end our class raised $850 for the local Ronald McDonald House – Woop! Woop!
And we had a great time in the process!
Thanks for the invite ladies! I seriously had a blast!
I spent the afternoon working in Starbucks with a Corn VitaTop somewhere in between.
I also ended the night with a little Dark Chocolate.
Side note: we’re on day ?? of no ac and all the chocolate in my house had to be moved to the fridge because it was starting to melt in the pantry. Poor chocolate. :/
Have you ever taken a painting class? It was so much fun – I want to go back and do it again!
