Surprise Visit

by Meghann on March 9, 2011

Surprise! I’m Blogging from Orlando!

To make a long story short, I drove to Orlando today to reshoot some footage for the Dance Trance episode of Meals and Miles with IzonOrlando. Tomorrow we’re hoping to film another episode, so I’m crashing with my lovely sister for the evening.

Hi Kelly!

I spent the morning Tampa working form my living room and broke for lunch around noon.

I wanted a little bit of everything, so I made a plate of everything.

The plate had Black Olives, Pickles, Green Beans, Carrots, Pretzels (with mustard!), Tabouli and Hummus.

The mid-day drive to Orlando wasn’t bad at all. It was quick, traffic free, and filled with last night’s Glee songs on repeat. (LOVED their version of Landslide!)

When I made it to Orlando I headed straight to Infusion Tea to take advantage of their free WiFi and to kill time before filming.

Infusion Tea’s scone was calling my name and I happily answered.

mmmmm… scone…. Must. Make. My. Own. Soon. πŸ™‚

Dance Trance was AWESOME! I’ve seriously made some great friends there and I can’t wait to showcase the amazing team in a positive light. The classes are just so much fun!

FYI: The new episode should go up on Tuesday! πŸ™‚

Dance Trance + Filming completely wore me out, so I stopped for take out on the way to my sister’s.

Welcome to Moes!

Homewrecker in bowl form with chicken and extra guac.

Love the bowl option because you’re losing the bajillion calories that come from the wrap. Which I, of course, enjoy in chip form instead. πŸ˜‰

Devoured on my previous nightstand (Kelly got my old bedroom set in the move πŸ™‚ )

My sister had these delicious Smores Bites for dessert that we paired with Ice Cream.

My brain is so confused. As soon as I drove into Orlando today I felt like I was home, but as soon as Dance Trance was over – and I realized I didn’t have my own bed home to nearby – it all of a sudden didn’t feel like home anymore. This is going to take some getting used to.

At least I do have A bed to sleep in tonight and it looks really comfy. πŸ™‚

Good Night!

I think pretty much anything that comes in a bowl is great- soup, ice cream, burrito fixings, oatmeal, cereal, applesauce, yogurt, etc…

By the way, when I went to check out your sister’s link it turned into a page for “Small Hours Film.” I don’t regularly follow her blog, so I may be missing something! Or not-?

I know what you mean about things “not feeling like home”. I called my college town home for four years, and when I go back now, it feels so familiar, but is definitely not where I”m meant to be!

Being married to a military man, nothing really feels like ‘home’ anymore. I’m kinda getting used to it but still look forward to the day when we can just settle down and not worry about having to pack up and move.

13 SaraRM March 9, 2011 at 10:20 pm

Ya I definitely know that feeling. My husband and I moved a few months ago and the transisition was slow. So when we go back to visit friends it is very strange. It is hard to be in the same town and not go to our “home”. I always get that little kid feeling of being home sick in the pit of my stomach but our new house finally became “home” once we were completely settled. Youll get there… πŸ™‚

I’ve never tried Moe’s (not sure if it is a southern chain only?) but it looks delicious. And I do the same thing at Chipotle — I get the burrito bowl with chips on the side to scoop. Same amount of calories probably, but it is funner to eat that way!

Never tried Moe’s bowls before. I get one of the soft shelled tacos (overachiever?) or a jr. burrito (vandalay?). Their salads aren’t bad, but it’s hard to eat on tiny shredded lettuce instead of bigger chunks. And the chips are awesome…

mmmm you had some good eats today! I gotta try the pretzels with mustard thing- sounds like it is right up my alley πŸ™‚

Scones remind me of NYC. Moe’s reminds me of NYC. Double it up and I am jonesing for a trip there. Anyhow- Alice’s Tea Cup in NYC has THE BEST SCONES. They recently came out with a beautiful cookbook full of their recipes. has a couple of them on there, the pumpkin one is the best homemade scone I have ever tried. Delish!

We don’t have Moe’s here, but we have Chipotle, which also has a bowl option. Most of the calories are in the tortilla, so bowls are always good πŸ™‚

What a fun night! I love getting the burrito bowl from Chipotle! What you had for dinner looks very similar. I definitely want to try Moe’s. I’ve driven past them before but never tried their food. πŸ™‚

27 Kara March 10, 2011 at 8:56 am

I love Moe’s so much! The first time I went was after I won a gift card for being the first girl to finish in a 5K and now I like it better than Chipotle.

I know what you mean about feeling weird going back to where you just lived. I felt the same way when I moved away after getting married!

it will probably be awkward for a little while. especially since you are kind of living in both places at once right now. a lot of your life is still in orlando it seems but yet your new home is tampa which you don’t know very well. i hope you do start to discover cool things in tampa soon.
