Photo Chaos

by Meghann on March 3, 2011

Umm.. yeah…

Maybe diving into my bin of old photos this afternoon wasn’t the smartest idea.

At least Maddie didn’t think so.

Poor Thing. She really misses her couch.

The photos sort of took over my afternoon. I pulled a few for an upcoming post and in the process got carried away with attempting to organize them.

By tossing a lot of photo doubles and bulky frames, I was able the whittle down the extra large photo bin to an organized medium sized box.

Much better! πŸ™‚

One day I would love to scan all of my old photos to a CD. Brookstone carries a photo scanner that scans X amount of photos at a time that I’ve been drooling over for a while. I know there are services out there that will do it too, but I’m weird about sending stuff away or dropping it off. πŸ™‚

I snacked on my last piece of frozen pumpkin bread with a smear of peanut butter while organizing.

And treated myself to some Jeremiah’s Italian Ice after I finished. LOVE the P-Nutty & Cake Batter Mix! πŸ™‚

Part of the treat was getting to enjoy the Italian ice with these lovely ladies.

Julie and Katy wanted to get together for one last desert before I moved. <3 them! πŸ™‚

I’ve made some AMAZING friends in Orlando. Amazing friends I plan to keep once I move too. I’ll only be 2 hours away. No biggie! πŸ™‚

I stopped at Publix to grab a quick dinner on the way home.

I was craving a salad.

Everything looked great. (minus the American cheese and celery)

Not a fan of those. :/

Look at this.

Just enough dressing for ONE salad.

I was also craving an apple with my salad.

Dinner is served. πŸ™‚

Time for bed.

Good Night!

Looks like a great day:) Pictures also seem overwhelming to me, so I have a year and a half worth to print and label.

I love Publix salad’s but I will say that the cheese does look a little sketchy. πŸ˜‰

How fun to go out with the girls! πŸ˜€

Ewww! I don’t even eat cheese, but if I did, those American slices would trashed [or given to the dog]. πŸ˜‰

Yay for blogger meet-ups!

I’m really impressed. I wouldn’t have even started that project, and if I did I would have abandoned it. You’re so awesome!

mmmmm frozen yogurt or custard? Both are good! Blogger meet ups look fun πŸ™‚ P.s. I LOVE organizing photos—such a trip down memory lane!

I can’t believe the big moving day is almost here! It’s great that you were able to see Julie and Katy tonight – so many fun bloggers are in Orlando (and soon-to-be Tampa -hehe!). Enjoy your night!

You just reminded me that I really need to organize my photos! They’re all just thrown haphazardly into photo boxes! The manila folders is a great idea! πŸ™‚

I have to organize a HUGE box of photos and do a scrapbook! I do one every year for my fiance and I, lot of work but so worth it!

So awesome you have met so many amazing friends in Orlando, and its great that you will still be a drive away only!

Haha, I like celery! I used to hate it and recently I’ve started liking it for snacks with carrots.

Oh my goodness where did you get that ADORABLE black and white box to store your things in? SO CUTE.

Oh cleaning and organizing…Don’t you hate that? You plan to organize a bunch of things and it ends up taking way longer and ends up much messier than you imagined and you wish you would have just left it? haha. I do that all the time when I decide to take everything out of my closet and reorganize. However, it does feel MUCH better when you are done because things are organized and for some reason it feels amazing to haul out 2 trash bags to the curb–knowing that you got rid of things you don’t need!

Ahh I wish we had that Jeremiah’s place where I live! Yum!

It’s from Target πŸ™‚

19 Megan March 4, 2011 at 7:26 am

When I moved to Florida, I didn’t have the space to store all my old high school and college photos (I had a lot!) and I was worried about having to load them in the car if we had to escape a hurricane(!), so I had them all scanned. It was the best thing I ever did, seriously. It was scary that they went to India, but I had no problems in the 5 different shipments that I made. I even got my mom to do the same with all our childhood pictures!

20 Kara March 4, 2011 at 7:29 am

I hate American cheese too! In my mind, it’s not really cheese at all. πŸ™‚

Poor Maddie needs a couch!

I’ve never undertaken a task like this – just organizing our financial files. I would love to sit down and organize and go through all of the photos I took in high school and as a Photo-J major in college. I shot film then, now, I’m all about the digital.

I really need to go through my BOXES of pictures that I have… I tend to just lug them around from house to house instead. I should probably organize them… lol

25 Theresa @ActiveEggplant March 4, 2011 at 10:34 am

Instead of sending the old pictures away to be scanned, you can just take a picture of them! I’ve done that with lots of old photos and they turn out just as well as they would from a scanner, but I don’t have to send them anywhere. (And i can then organize them on my computer in a snap!)

26 Kacy March 4, 2011 at 10:34 am

I love getting things like that organized! It feels so good! And I want that ice cream.

I need to do this so badly! I have pictures from kindergarten all the way up to college in the same box, all jumbled together. Every time I open the box to start organizing I get overwhelmed and close the lid.
