I give you my lunch.
Now, before you say anything, it should be made clear that I am not pregnant. I’m not suffering from any weird food cravings. And I haven’t lost my mind… yet. I’ve simply reached the bottom of my pantry and am getting a little desperate in my food pairings.
Honey Peanut Butter, Apple Slices, and Pickles? Sure. Why not?
Popcorn? You got it!
Personally, I thought the side of popcorn was a nice touch. I’m a sucker for BOGO boxes of popcorn at Publix and have been working my way through a stash for a few months now. It oddly paired nicely with this combo if you ask me. 😉
My random meals lately have been fun, but I’m chomping at the bit to move and have the luxury of grocery shopping on Sunday. I’m more than ready to sink my teeth into a fun new recipe!
Would you watch if I livestreamed my next marathon?
Well 3,000 people watched this guy do it.
(there’s a video you may have to click through to see it 🙂 )
How cool is that?
huh.. now pickles and pb is surely a first.. I LOVE the apple combo though 😀

I’ve been eating pickles with peanut butter since I was little. xD It’s an odd combo but DEFINITELY a tasty one.
Yep, looks like a pregnancy meal to me. Not that I would know or anything. Hehe. 🙂

I know those meals all too well. After a few of those meals, I tend start craving things like steak haha.

Cool idea but I personally would not watch the entire thing but I’d watch something more like what James did at the Oscars. #oscarsrealtime haha

Sounds like a good meal to me!
A couple months ago I was craving sushi and mac & cheese…. so I drove to Whole Foods and got a little of each. It was worth it!!

That’s so cool! Didn’t you video parts of Chicago? I think I enjoyed your method more. Though it might be fun to have the entire thing for yourself!
Not so keen on the pickles but I’d eat all the rest! 🙂

Pickles and peanut butter is one combo I think I’ll pass on even though I like both. I went to a local restaurant for brunch a few weekends ago and got a lot of strange looks for my order of a side salad and pancakes. I had to explain that yes, I know my pancakes came with sausage or bacon but I don’t like either and I’m allergic to eggs. And then the waitress brought the salad and pancakes at the same time, which I’ll admit was odd going from hot bite to cold bite, but I know from experience that just an order of their two smallish pancakes is never filling. Sometimes odd combos just work.
I think that tasting plate looks great! I love pickles and I’m certainly not pregnant. 😛

I think it would be fun to watch but I don’t think I could watch the whole thing. I think a video with highlight from the race would be more fun to watch. For example: starting the race, passing each mile marker and how you are feeling after a certain amount of miles, and then crossing the finish line and the celebrating at the end.

Sometimes the most random meals are the best! I love your addition of popcorn as a side dish – brilliant!

I would totally watched if you livestreamed your next race 🙂 What’s the next full marathon you’re going to do?

i grew up on peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches! they’re super good. i think you’d like it since you like odd combos. 🙂
Haha, I think we’re used to your “creative” meals. Nothing too crazy there 🙂

Would I watch a live stream? Heck, yes. I think it’s a wonderful idea, so long as it wouldn’t stress you out too much in terms of possibly making the race more difficult or affecting pace.
I don’t think that’s a weird food combo at all: you should see some of the things I put together!

Ha! I totally had pickles and popcorn for lunch Thursday and prefaced it with, “I’m not pregnant…”

The popcorn totally made me think of Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving! All you need is Toast and Jelly Beans! haha 🙂 And I would watch you if you streamed the marathon! Since I am unable to run one this year, I would love to see someone else’s accomplishment! 🙂

It’s fun to clean out the pantry but it does get boring after a while! I love the addition of popcorn here.

This reminds me of one of my and my boyfriend’s favorite meals that we generally eat on lazy Friday or Sunday nights. Homepopped popcorn, pickles, hummus, and apples all served on a butcher block. Delicious.
I would totally eat those at the same meal… Just no dipping of my pickles in PB!
I would DEFINITELY watch! You da best!
That’s just crazy! I often wonder how my friends are doing mid-race, so this would be a good way to find out, I guess!
I wonder whether he did a lot of training runs with all that gear on…

Love popcorn, but you’ve got to make it on the stovetop. It’s the best. I recently explained how to do it (so easy!) on my blog. Check it out!
Pickles and Peanut Butter are one of my favorite combos (No, I am also not pregnant!). My dad used to eat peanut butter and pickle sandwiches when I was little and started me on them! I’m in college now and my roommates think I’m crazy for it, but I absolutely love the combo of crunchy peanut butter with hamburger dill pickle slices between two pieces of wheat bread. c: I think of it as soul food.
You know, for the last few years I’ve gotten really strong cravings for all sorts of crazy food mixtures involving pickles. So, your creation sounds absolutely amazing and if it wasn’t 10:30 at night, I would be tempted to make it for myself. Hmm…maybe tomorrow… 🙂

Those costumes are so crazy! That’d be cool, but the contraption looked heavy.
I’ve read on other blogs people eating pickles and PB on the same sandwich, and my BF puts PB on everything (like really everything), so this is by far not that weird.
Kudos to you for using up what’s in your house! That combo doesn’t sound too bad really.
