Plate of Hearts

by Meghann on February 15, 2011

I almost forgot all about my heart plates yesterday.

My parents gave me a set of heart plates for Valentine’s Day about two years ago and it only seems appropriate to pull them out for the day of hearts of every year. I’m sure the day after the day of hearts still counts too, right? πŸ˜‰

I move in three weeks. That’s three weeks with very, very limited runs to the grocery store and three weeks of getting creative with my pantry and fridge. It’s also three weeks without ketchup.

This could get interesting. What am I saying? It’s already interesting.

Enter my Sweet Potato with Almond Butter and Pretzel Goldfish.

There was no room for the pretzels on the plate, so I made a last minute decision to add them to the top. It was a fantastic decision. The pretzels gave the combo a salty and crunchy bite.

The last of a head of broccoli finished off the heart.

Calling all Orlando Friends!

We’re filming the second episode of Meals and Miles at Dance Trance TONIGHT. If you want to be a part of the show come on by for the 6:00pm breakdown class! πŸ™‚

Also, if you’re in the Jacksonville area, I noticed there was a Dance Trance Living Social Deal happening today. $29 for a unlimited month sounds pretty baller to me!

Ok, I would think after reading your blog all this time, I wouldn’t be shocked at your food combos anymore….but you got me at pretzel goldfish on a sweet potato!

3 weeks left of living the single girl life!

You always come up with the most random combinations of foods for your meals! I admire, and fear that about you. lol

I wish I could Dance Trance it up with Meals n Miles. Alas, MN is geographically convenient. Have fun tonight! Can’t wait for your next episode!

I mean MN is NOT geographically convenient… whoops.

I’m in the same boat as you. I have to keep reminding myself not to pick things up that I would normally stock in my cabinet or freezer to use at a later time. Good luck with your move. I’ve been procrastinating…. πŸ˜‰

Love heart plates! Goldfish pretzels on a sweet potato? Sounds good to me! The crunch and saltiness would add so much to the potato. Yum!

When I first read about the pretzels on the sweet potato I was, admittedly, skeptical. Really though, it’s not a bad idea!

I actually bought PB pretzels at the grocery store the other day after seeing them on your blog for so long. They are a good snack! Pretzels on a sweet potato is a new idea, but kind of along the same line- sweet/salty! Nice!

If I was in Orlando, I’d totally hit up the dance class tonight. I’m thinking a flight from Cali won’t get me there in time…

When I first saw the picture of your meal, I thought those were baked beans. When I read what they were, I was a little “grossed out” but I’m sure it is delicious. I find comfort in reading about some of your food combos.
