Birthday Month

by Meghann on February 1, 2011

It’s February 1st! Welcome to my birthday month!!

I turn 26 in exactly one week from today! Yippeee!!!

I’ve got big plans for my birthday month, including another big birthday trip (it’s sort of become a tradition) with a few of my favorite people. It’s going to be great! πŸ™‚

Don’t let Maddie fool you – she’s excited too.

I just did what any good fur mommy would do and wore her out on a 3 mile run this morning. It’s pure genius in my mind. I wear her out first thing in the morning and she spends the rest of the day sleeping it off instead of bringing a ball over to throw every five minutes as I work. A tired pup is a good pup. πŸ™‚

I have 3 or 4 almost empty jars of nut butter in the pantry right now. You know what that means…

Overnight Oats in a Jar!

Don’t ask me how I have 3 or 4 almost empty jars in my pantry or how many other jars of nut butter I have in there (maybe 3?). I have a nut butter problem. But I’m ok with that.

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
  • Plain Yogurt
  • Almond Milk
  • Pumpkin
  • Chia Seeds
  • Raisins
  • Cacao Nibs

Refrigerated over night and topped with Blueberries this morning.

A really refreshing breakfast. πŸ™‚

Registration opened today for the 2011 Chicago Marathon.

I have no current plans to run Chicago in 2011, but it’s one of those races I think everyone should run at least once. The course, the people, the excitement – it’s a race that should be on any marathoners to-do list! πŸ™‚

Don’t believe me? Read my recap from last year’s race!

Also, registration opened for the 2012 ING Miami Marathon today.

If you register TODAY the Half Marathon is only $38.50 and the full is $64.00!!

Ohhhh birthdays are the best. It sounds like you guys are going to have an awesome time in Vermont! Also, that’s so impressive that Maddie is able to run 3 miles. Tough little dog you’ve got there!

Happy Birthday month! I agree that birthdays should be celebrated all month long. I signed up for Chicago this morning! I ran it last year as my first marathon and I’m hooked. It helps that Chicago is my hometown, so no traveling for me πŸ™‚

A good run is also the best way to get my dog to be good during the day too. Right now she’s sleeping off our morning 4 miles up on my husband’s side of the bed (shhhhh don’t tell). πŸ™‚

I’d love to run Chicago one day, maybe when I’m working again and we can afford random travel πŸ˜›

Meghann! You should totally run Chicago in 2011! And can I suggest that you run on our team: Hustle for the Hounds which will save the lives of many many retired racing greyhounds. Most of them actually come from Florida! Let me know if you want more information or see our team website: Either way…Happy Birthday!

In our house February is the best month! LB, Daisy and I share a birthday, February 26! I am very excited to share my birthday with them this year for their 1st party.

When Lew and I were training for a half and full marathon this fall we took our dog Millie on a 10 mile run one day! I was so impressed she made it all day but I don’t think she moved for the next 2 days! πŸ™‚

I’m not sure if I have ever added pumpkin to overnight oats before. It looks like it’s worth a try! Don’t you love the crunchiness cacao nibs add to everything? If you haven’t tried them in pancakes, you really should. Also, I had to do a double take of your friend Kelly because she looks so much like Caitlin in that picture. πŸ™‚
