The Last Week

by Meghann on January 10, 2011

This morning marks the beginning of my last week on the job.

Well… this job at least.

Apparently my IT department decided to get the party started early and locked me out of my computer for the first part of the day. Are they trying to tell me something? Don’t worry, I’m going to miss you guys too!

This morning also kicked off week 2 of Jillian Michaels’ 6 Week 6 Pack Challenge.  I think the more I do the DVD, the shorter and shorter it begins to feel. Also, does anyone else notice that she skips the second set of side crunches during the second circuit? That annoys me to no end for some reason. I like to pause the DVD and get the second set in before moving on. I’m OCD like that.

Breakfast was beautiful this morning, no? I love that berries are beginning to pop up around Central Florida. It pays to live in a warmer climate this time of year. No snow and better fruit. 😉

My bowl contained:

  • 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean
  • 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean Crisp
  • 1/2 cup Greenwise Flax Flakes
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Drizzle of Honey
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Blueberries

The berries were top notch. 😉

Time to really get this party started.

Later Gators!

Too funny the computer had you locked out. And I bet this week will go by even faster than last week did for you! Pass some of the speed my way. I want time to pass quickly right now since baby B is still holding tight.

Drives me NUTS when workout videos spend more time on one side than the other for certain exercises. It isn’t just you! 🙂

I’m going to ship you some snow from Toronto, we got too much this weekend . . . actually it’s not really that much, it’s the -17 degrees celsius temperature as I was waiting for the bus this morning that’s the problem

For now, I’ll just keep eating squash and potatoes and onions and drool over your blueberries 😉 hehehe

13 Ann January 10, 2011 at 9:46 am

I’m jealous of your fresh blueberries! I tried to get to Whole Foods last night for some blueberries (and other things), but it started snowing while I was out to dinner and Whole Foods was closed by the time we got there! Snowed in and no fresh fruit … And about the Jillian Michaels DVD- I didn’t notice that she skipped the side crunches, but I did feel like the second set was quicker/easier! Now I know why.

I always find my last weeks really emotional. I become hyper-aware of how I’ll miss everyone. Although I have to say, the good friends I’ve made at jobs have mostly stayed with me over time. Enjoy your last week!

17 Lindsey January 10, 2011 at 10:00 am

One of Carmen Electra’s Fit To Strip DVD’s does that a few times – doesn’t complete both sides, or skips something all together. You’d think they’d edit these things? Glad I’m not the only one that notices. Have fun with your last week!

20 Sara January 10, 2011 at 10:02 am

Are you sure she skips it? I just did the workout last night, and I’ve done it a few times, and I’ve never noticed that she skips it. I had to use the on-demand video, since the DVD I purchased skips (same thing happened with my Shred DVD; I had to exchange it), but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference.

21 Freya January 10, 2011 at 10:02 am

OOH my gosh, I do the exact same thing if I spot a mistake in a workout dvd like that! Tae Bo has it quite a lot…like, 20 kicks one side, 12 the other – infuriating!

22 Beth @ DiningAndDishing January 10, 2011 at 10:08 am

Best of luck with your last week of office work Meghann! Bet you are SUPER excited for this next chapter :).

23 jen @ taste life January 10, 2011 at 10:09 am

We had strawberries here in NC (from Florida, of course!) at the grocery store this week and I SQUEALED with delight and bought them. I know, I know, they had to travel far and wide to get to me, but man, they are worth it!

Yes! I noticed that on Jillian’s dvd and it drives me bonkers. I’ll have a lopsided sick pack. Who wants that? hehe. I pause too….cause I’m worried that if I make it through and I do get somewhat toned abs out of the deal, at least I’ll look the same on both sides. =)

Have a great last Monday of your job!

I’m seriously going to have to stop reading your blog. Berries and no snow!? After every post I just ended up banging my head against a table saying I. WANT. TO. LIVE. IN. FLORIDA. And then I look out my window at the snow that won’t stop and get mad they didn’t cancel classes today.

Your breakfast looks amazing.

I didn’t notice about the side crunches and I’ve done it at least ten times now! I’ll have to pay close attention tomorrow morning.

I’m OCD too so I’ll have to pause it – I paused it tonight so I could get to yoga on time and turned it back on to do the last 4 moves when I got home!
