Pampered Feet

by Meghann on October 27, 2010

You have no idea how much my feet needed to be pampered today.

They were bad. Very bad. Training for back to back marathons will do that to ya. I’ve been meaning to get a pedicure since Chicago and just now found the time to use up the GroupOn I had been hanging onto for this very occasion.

And since my next marathon is still more than a month out I knew I would be ok. 😉 My rule is no pedicures the month before a marathon (don’t want to ruin all those lovely protective rough spots), but a month and two weeks before is ok. 😉

Pretty feet!

Even better was the Pumpkin Spice Tea Latte I enjoyed from Infusion Tea during the pedicure. 😉

The pedicure was my light at the end of a tunnel from a long day of work at my desk. My afternoon Allie Bar was a shiny piece of that light as well.

So was my dinner plans with my beautiful friend Christie (whom I haven’t seen since her wedding in August!).

We met for food at the highly recommended – and very hard to find – Social Chameleon near downtown.

And when I say hard to find, I should say hard to get to as well.

I plugged the address into the google maps navigation application on my phone and managed to drive right passed it the first time. The only reason I knew I drove past it was because when I looked down on my phone I saw a photo of the building I had already seen three building back. (p.s. how cool is the new google maps application that it shows you an image of the address you’re looking for when you’ve ‘reached your destination’).

After two quick u-turns I discovered the building (that resembled a closed shack) didn’t have what looked like access to a parking lot. I questioned an ally next to the building and decided to try and drive my car through.

It worked. I found the parking lot and survived the ally, but I’m not sure I was supposed to squeeze through there. On the way out I found someone’s driveway that I was able to get back to the main road from there.

Needless to say just getting to the restaurant was a challenge, but it was such a cute tiny place with load of character that it was well worth it.

The menu looked amazing as well. There were plenty of meat, vegetarian, and vegan friendly options that all sounded delicious and were decently priced.

However, I ended up ignoring the menu and ordering the Butternut Squash & Cous Cous Flat Bread Special.

It was a tad dry, but nothing a little hot sauce couldn’t fix.

Honestly I was more impressed with Christie’s Pizza she has ordered. I stole a tiny piece and was floored by the addition of the ricotta to the pizza and the fresh plump tomato slices. Next time I would order the pizza, but the special wasn’t bad either. 🙂

Best part? The price! Can’t beat that!

When I got home I had the last third of the Sugah Stix.

Time for bed.

Good Night!!
