Good Intentions

by Meghann on August 29, 2010

Every Sunday it’s the same routine… I have BIG plan of cleaning, working, and preparing for the week ahead, but instead I end up on the couch with remote in hand and lazy dog on my side.

Le sigh.

It’s the good intentions that really counts, right?

Obviously my DVR marathon worked up quite an appetite. Sitting on a couch and pressing the fast forward button is a lot of work!

Today’s eats included an afternoon snack of yogurt and granola…

And…. a dinner of fries.

A dinner of fries? Why not? I’m all about eating what I crave and tonight I wanted fries. πŸ™‚ And these weren’t just any fries either

There were Nut Butter Encrusted Parsnip & Carrot Fries with barbeque sauce for dipping

and Okra Fries (!!) with ketchup.

Complete with Spelt Bread Toast.

After a post-dinner walk with Maddie I had an Attune chocolate bar for dessert.

I love the coffee bean flavor. The bar comes complete with whole coffee beans that add a bit of a crunch and great coffee flavor to each bite. πŸ™‚

I have a crazy couple of months ahead of me.

Check out my upcoming travel calendar

  • September 3-6: New York City
  • September 17-19: Ft. Lauderdale
  • October 8 -10: Chicago
  • October 22-24: Charlottesville
  • November 5-7: San Francisco

And that doesn’t even include my plans in Orlando for those weekends in between!

It’s going to be a busy time, but it’s also going to be a fun time! I better enjoy these lazy afternoons while I can. πŸ˜‰

Time to chill and watch the Emmys! I <3 award shows!!

Yum, fries! That dinner looks great.

I’m like you – I always have the best intentions but then I see something like a “The Nanny” marathon, and I’m out for the day.

7 runningaroundnormal August 29, 2010 at 9:36 pm

I had grand plans to be productive too. But instead, I shopped. Such is Sunday, right?

8 Kristy @ August 29, 2010 at 9:39 pm

I’m the same way. If I know I have crazy amounts of things to do coming up, I take full advantage of all the lazy moments I can. You need to be well rested for the hectic mess ahead! πŸ™‚

9 Allison August 29, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Ha! That’s just about my Sunday routine as well. Sometimes instead of the DVR though I’ll get engrossed in a book and end up reading one pretty much all day.

I love the bowl in your first picture! So pretty!

10 Lizz @ Leading the Good Life August 29, 2010 at 9:48 pm

I love Sundays for this reason – they are mine to do whatever I want! Most of the time, this means a long run beginning before the sun rises, an ice bath, a pot of mac n cheese, a lovely nap, and a movie marathon. Pure bliss!!

Have you got all of your SF plans set (i.e. flights/hotels, etc.)? I’m not sure when I should be booking these things, but I definitely want to go. It would be fun if all of us could be in the same vicinity in the city!

26 Meghann August 30, 2010 at 5:48 am

I haven’t booked anything yet, but I’m in flight watching mode!

Prepping for the week ahead is so overrated… Sometimes the best thing you can do is just sit back, take a breath and watch some TV!
