My Ode to the AllieBar

Hello AllieBar,

I think I love you. πŸ™‚


I know your recipe is top secret, but it doesn’t stop me from dissecting your make up with every delicious sweet bite. πŸ˜‰

I now believe the secret to your wonderful sweetness is that all your nuts and oatmeal bits have been coated in brown sugar and lightly baked before being made into bar form. Allie, am I close? πŸ˜‰

Some granola bars are tought and hurt my jaw as I chew, but not you AllieBar. You crumble and practically melt in my mouth. I would like to have more and more of you. Le sigh, if only Allie would give up the recipe! πŸ˜‰

The AllieBar was the perfect pre-hot yoga snack. It was light and sweet, but still filling enough to power me through an 80 minute sweat sesh.

And sweat i did. As the summer temps continue to rise all around us in central Florida, so does the temperature in the tiny, hot room. It had to reach over 100 degrees in there this evening. Yikes!

I’ve pretty much given up eating real food after yogurt. I mush prefer a big smoothie in a bowl instead.


Isn’t tonight’s bowl pretty? I think the addition of the kale may have had something to do with it. πŸ˜‰

  • Almond Milk
  • Frozen Pineapple
  • Frozen Mango
  • Flax Seed
  • PB2
  • Kale


  • Granola
  • Naturally Nutter Honey Cinnamon Peanut Butter

I’m not sure I want to ever eat a real meal again.


I pulled a frozen Chai Tea Scone out of the freezer for dessert.


Mmmm….. πŸ™‚

How to Date a Triathlete: Learning to Live with and Love an Endurance Athlete.

I’m thinking about purchasing a copy for Derek.

Of course, he probably has it down to a science now! πŸ™‚

Good Morning! This morning I hit the gym for some weight training a la Emily. I followed her 15 strength exercises circuit, but could only complete it once instead of the recommended two time due to time constraints.
