Christie's Getting Married!

by Meghann on August 8, 2010

Last night was a whirlwind of friends, bars, drinks, and penis straws (yes, penis straws). I mean, it was a bachelorette party after all. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In exactly two weeks my friend Christie will be walking down the aisle and saying ‘I do’ to the love her life. She’ll officially be leaving her single life behind and becoming a Mrs.

Well, that’s still two weeks away and until then it is our duty as her friends to celebrate those last few days of being single. And what better way to celebrate then a night out on the town with the girls? ๐Ÿ˜‰

“What Happens at a Bachelorette Party Stays at the Bachelorette Party”

Damn Straight! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My participation in last night’s festivities began early when I offered to help a few other members of the party decorate before hand.

The maid of honor booked a hotel room for the evening and we did our best decorating with caution tape, phallic symbols, and other various impending matrimony knick knacks.

Before decorating I had a homemade trail mix on my way out the door.

And I was in charge of snacks for the evening.

I had a few snap peas and a couple of chips with dip while waiting for the party to get started.

Party favors.

Christie had no idea what the plans were for the evening. When the room was ready, the maid of honor and bridesmaids picked Christie up from her apartment and drove her all over Orlando blind folded to throw off her sense of direction. They then led her up to the room before removing it for the big reveal.

We got straight to work decking her out! Our goal was to make her look as obnoxious as possible to guarantee as many free drinks as possible.

Let the party begin!

I’m not the biggest liquor drinker so I stuck with red wine (in a classy purple cup) at the hotel room.

Our destination for the evening? Bar hopping at CityWalk!

First stop: Margaritaville for dinner.

Margarita on the Rocks with Salt

(Ok, I promise no more penis straw shots.)

I had the Calypso Mahi Mahi for dinner. It was nothing special – just fish with green beans and rice.

Next stop: Red Coconut Club

The Groove (We totally used to go here back in high school for teen nights! Brought back so many memories!)

Last – Pat O’Briens

You know that group of girls you’ve known since elementary school and who stick by your side through thick and thin?

Well this group of amazing ladies is it!

I was even in the same kindergarten class as Kira (on the far left)! I had a blast hanging out with these girls last night and can not wait until we are all reunited in two weeks for Christie’s big day.

Christie is getting married! Ahhh!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

We cabbed it back to the hotel and immediately dug into the chocolate chip cookies I had brought for this exact reason.

I had two and they were probably the best 2:00am cookies I have ever eaten. ๐Ÿ™‚

We slept in and decided to enjoy the free hot breakfast the hotel had to offer.

I had 1/2 a waffle, fruit, and a pretty nasty omelet that was stuffed with american cheese (yuck!)

The rest of the day is mine to enjoy! I have a few chores to do around the house and if it stops raining (fingers crossed) I would love to go on a bike ride later!

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

It looks like you ladies had a blast, which makes sense, because hanging out with long time friends is always fun!!

I’m still not sure why penis props are so popular at bachelorette parties. I’m not a fan. haha

a) you look very pretty in these pictures!

b) when one of my friends got married years ago, we had a penis flashlight. She used it to direct traffic. It was epic.
