Day 13

Day 13 of my Chicago Training Plan looked a little something like this:


Actually –scratch that – it looked a little different then that. I ended up doing the 10-12 x 1:00 @ 6:40 opposed to 7:20. Not sure why I had originally put 7:20?

Anyways, this morning was my first official Chicago training plan fartlek and I have to admit I kicked that fartlek’s ass. Plus, I just like saying fartlek. Fartlek! Fartlek! Fartlek! HA! Sometimes I like to pretend I’m a 12 yr old. 🙂

If you’re curious what a fartlek is I gave a little explanation in this post here.

I prefer doing fartlek’s on a treadmill where I have control over the speed and can distract myself from the minute splits with a tv. During the ‘pick up’ part I would go up to 9.0 and during the rest I went for to 6.3.

The whole work out took about an hour and I was good and sweaty by the time it was done. 🙂

I was craving peanut butter and jam for breakfast.


Particularly Naturally Nutty Honey Roasted Cinnamon Peanut Butter and Strawberry-Basil Preserves with rolled dates, dark chocolate chips, and flax seeds.


Yum! 🙂

So juicy and so refreshing.

Time to do a little thing called work. 😉

fartlek runs are so fun! Makes a run seem like it goes by so much faster I think!

dude, that is totally my speed workout for today. yet i’m not doing it, i walked too much for work today…so tomorrow instead!

and i love your rolled dates and chocolate chips on everything! it’s awesome! i need to find some rolled dates…i ate them all the time when i was a kid!
