The theme of today’s lunch was SWEET!
I think my sweet tooth was in overdrive as I was dreaming this plate up during work this morning.
Whole Wheat Pita + Almond Butter + Apple + Raisins + Strawberry Jam
Wowza! Talk about a kicked up PB&J!
Confession: I HATE PB&J!
But for some reason when I use strawberry jam instead of grape jelly (what I grew up on and still can’t stand today), almond butter instead of ‘fake’ peanut butter, and add some crunch, I’m all of a sudden in love with the sweetfullily delicious combo.

My snack this morning consisted of grape tomatoes and swiss cheese.
The savory snack is probably why I was craving a sweet lunch. 😉

I always need a savory or salty meal. I swear, I go through onions like apples at meals
I looove pb and j but I always make them with strawberry jam!
I never have raisins in my house but you’ve been using them a lot lately and I’m tempted! 🙂

I get sick of food I eat too much of. For example, for almost 2 years I ate a turkey sandwich with a serving of Wheat Thins for lunch every day. I can’t stand turkey sandwiches now!

I never had grape jelly when I was growing up- thank god. I’ve never liked it- but we always had homemade raspberry jam that hit the spot each time!
I’ve been craving sweet lunches recently too. Can you say grilled apple butter and banana sammich? I can! 🙂

Glad you are enjoying your new Garmin. I got a Polar F7 heart rate monitor as a Hanukkah gift last year, right before I started running. It cost about the same as what you paid on Amazon deal of the day. I love my heart rate monitor, and I’m glad I got it! But now that I am a runner, I really wish I could track my pace, distance, etc along with heart rate and calories burned.
You don’t like PB&J? Gasp! That hurts my heart. PB&Js are one of my favorite comfort foods….I love them as fuel for a great run or hike!

I agree with you on the grape jelly. I can’t remember if that’s what I got in my pb&j … but I do remember we always had grape juice. I can’t stand either, I think it’s because grape juice and jelly taste nothing like real grapes.
Cheese makes the best snack.

I love putting apples into savory dishes, especially sandwiches. It gives a little extra crunch and a burst of sweetness. 😀
I hate PB & J too! Never have liked it. I like jelly, and I love peanut butter, but together they just do not work for me AT ALL.
Oh – and I don’t like the grape jelly stuff either! Bleh – raspberry preserves, all the way!

Confession: I’ve never had a PB&J sandwich- I had no idea that they were that big a thing in the U.S. until I began reading some blogs- and had never tasted peanut butter straight before… so I trundle out, get a nice big jar and… no. Only in Reece’s chocolate do I like. I don’t think I’d make a good American 😉
Um, yeah. Reeses, not Reeces. You can tell how rare it is to find their chocolate over here!

I totally understand your dislike for grape jelly. I don’t know I can eat grapes, drink grape juice, but in a jelly form..it’s like a jelly-like Tylenol to me. I ALSO GOT MY GARMIN TODAY. But you got yours for a steal! I bought mine on Amazon and it was a good 30 dollars more than yours. Lucky!

OMG so yum! 🙂 I actually like grape jelly (which is funny because aside from actual grapes, I don’t like grape flavored anything lol).
Now that is what I call a creative lunch!
I hate PB&J too. I never at it as a kid. But i love almond butter and raspberry jam.
