I want to go back

by Meghann on May 4, 2010

It has been one of those morning that require two bags of highly caffeinated bags of tea in my morning cup.

I slept like a log last night. I’m not sure I stirred once, but when my alarm clock went off this morning it still felt like I was on California time and it was really 2:30 instead of 5:30. The snooze button was my friend this morning. 😉

When I did eventually get up I was temporarily able to face the Florida heat and humidity for a quick 4 mile run.

When did it get so hot here? I swear the temps were mellow in the low 80s when I left and not today the high is suppose to reach the 90s? Spring? What spring? San Francisco – I miss you already  …. sniff, sniff.

While I was away I had a fun sample delivered to my mailbox.

I think Kashi automatically ranks high on my list solely based on their free sample campaigns they conduct once a quarter.

Especially when they are offering something I’ve been dying to try!

I had a few nibbles before I added the Go Lean Crisp! to the bowl and I have to say it was quite tasty. Another winner for Kashi.

  • Go Lean Crisp!
  • 1/2 cup Kashi H2H
  • Vanilla Yogurt
  • Strawberries
  • Cacao Nibs

I didn’t realize I had accidentally purchased vanilla yogurt until I took my first bite and discovered how SWEET my cereal was. There was definitely a difference compared to my usual plain yogurt in the morning. The sweetness was a little much for my taste, but I’m not one to waste a big tub of yogurt. 😉

I’m off to tackle my office inbox. I haven’t checked it since I left the office Wednesday afternoon and I’m just a tad scared at what I might find.

Wish me luck!

Oh and in case you missed any of my San Francisco adventures, be sure to check out my recaps below. 🙂

Don’t you hate it when you buy the wrong thing at the supermarket, but have to eat it anyways?? Yes, there is a huge difference between plain and vanilla yogurt! Good luck with your inbox!

Yuck, I hate how reality hits when you come back from vacation. No fun!!
Oh I looove Kashi and their free samples! I got that same free sample a while back and I really enjoyed it!

The day after a vacation is always so rough! I usually feel like I need an extra day at home to come down from it all!

5 Matt May 4, 2010 at 10:18 am

Catching up on emails after vacation is always a pain. Good luck!

LoL, Hey, NO complaining about 90 degrees. It was 17 degrees here when I went on my jog this morning! What a difference 3000 miles makes, hahah.

I think I am the only one who likes the heat. I would rather run in the heat than in the cold. Maybe I should move to Florida.

I’m mad at Kashi. I signed up for a free sample MONTHS ago. And it never came. 🙁

10 Beth May 4, 2010 at 10:41 am

I love the Kashi samples too!

11 Amy @ Second City Randomness May 4, 2010 at 10:42 am

I love Kashi for that reason, too. And sometimes they hand out some awesome coupon booklets!

12 Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday May 4, 2010 at 10:49 am

Mmm. I love vanilla yoghurt!

How long does it usually take to get your Kashi? I requested some Honey Sunshine MONTHS ago and I am pretty sure it never made it to my house… are we talking weeks, months, or years? 🙂

i got that sample too but actually wasn’t quite the fan; it almost tasted too fake, is that possible by kashi!??!?!?!

Right after a vacation is always the worst

16 JenP May 4, 2010 at 11:11 am

I thought that cereal was too sweet itself. Try eating the rest of your yogurt with a less sweet cereal. H2H isn’t too bad.

I got this sample awhile back and loved it. My favorite kashi cereal is Honey Sunshine. It goes great in yogurt or to eat alone as a snack.

Have a great day!!

I get the blues after a great vacation and wish I could go back.

Kashi is a great cereal!

I love Kashi too – just wish their Go Lean wasn’t so high in carbs and sugar – it’s not worth the extra insulin for me.

How many carbs in that cereal Meghann??

i know coming back from vacay is such a downer! plus leaving the wine country is a let down all by itself!

22 Mary May 4, 2010 at 12:42 pm

Sounds like you had a blast in san fran! Glad you had fun 🙂

23 Morgan @ Life After Bagels May 4, 2010 at 12:48 pm

Oh no . . . I hate the dreaded in box after even a day or two off, so I’m sure yours is quite full after close to a week . . .

You are soo good! I was gone the same time as you and I was constantly checking the blackberry…after the first couple of days I started to relax 🙂

25 runnerforever May 4, 2010 at 1:52 pm

Free samples once a quarter, I haven’t heard about this. Sounds good to me!

26 Natalie May 4, 2010 at 2:09 pm

Wanna trade weather? It was 45 degrees and WINDY as all get out this morning (and yesterday when I ran)! I think we’re still in the middle of winter.

Your breakfast looks so yummy!

27 Jenny May 4, 2010 at 3:59 pm

We’re glad to have you back! At least you got in a yummy breakfast!

28 Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] May 5, 2010 at 3:44 am

Where do you buy cocoa nibs? That combo looks to-die for!

29 Meghann May 5, 2010 at 5:47 am

I got them from whole foods 🙂
