Good Morning!

After a full day of fun and a few hours of sketchy sleep I am sad to say I am safely back on the east coast. My vacation came to an end much too quickly. 🙁

Our red eye from San Francisco to Atlanta could not have gone smoother. Derek and I lucked out with a row of seats to ourselves and I happily passed out across the row. Derek’s lap made a great pillow. 😉 I have no memory of taking off or the drink cart going by at any time which I believe is a good sign I was passed the heck out.

The landing was really the only shaky part. A storm was cutting across Atlanta and it made for a bumpy ride. We survived though and landed safely on time.

Derek and I bee lined it to Atlanta Bread Company for breakfast.

I ordered a multi grain bagel with egg and was surprised how thin the bagel was.

I was thankful for the random apple in my bag to add a little fruit to my meal.

A tall STRONG black tea was a must.

Unfortunately we discovered while eating breakfast that out flight has been delayed a good hour and a half.

booo…..Now we are patiently waiting for the flight to board, so we can finally go home. Being delayed after a full night of flying is no bueno. 🙁

Here’s hoping we’re not delayed much longer!

Good luck getting home! Flight problems are the worst, especially on the tale of a fun time

2 Jenny May 3, 2010 at 12:30 pm

At least yall have each other to keep company!

3 runnerforever May 3, 2010 at 12:33 pm

Oh man, sorry about the delay and the bagel. It looks more like a bagel thin than real bagel :-(. At least you had a nice apple to go with it!

4 Chloe May 3, 2010 at 12:36 pm

Man, I hate flight delays, especially for the second flight. Hopefully you can get out of there soon! At least you have Derek to keep you company!

5 Jessie (Vegan-minded) May 3, 2010 at 12:36 pm

Flight delays are the worst! Hope you make it home soon. 🙂

6 biz319 May 3, 2010 at 12:37 pm

That sucks. I actually just booked a flight to Hilton Head and there is a layover in between in Atlanta – hopefully I won’t be delayed! Imagine that – I am actually getting on a plane this year!

7 ellaroo88 May 3, 2010 at 12:38 pm

Sorry to hear you are stuck! Hope you can move our and up soon

8 Megan @ The Oatmeal Diaries May 3, 2010 at 12:48 pm

I love Atlanta Bread Co! Your breakfast looks tasty 🙂

9 clairedille May 3, 2010 at 12:50 pm

Yeah, delays are no fun! The bagel sandwich sounds delicious though..

10 Erin May 3, 2010 at 12:52 pm

Ugh, so frustrating. I hate waiting for a delayed plane after already getting off another one. The worst was my four-plane, 34-hour jaunt home from New Zealand. It was never ending!!

11 Kristen May 3, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Sorry to weather here in Atlanta is not more welcoming for you guys. I tink it’s gonna be nasty all day. Good luck getting out & safe travels home!

12 Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday May 3, 2010 at 12:57 pm

Booo. Hope it works out for you guys

13 culturalcravings May 3, 2010 at 1:06 pm

Hope it works out soon! And yeah…that’s not a great example of a bagel. I think I can make that statement, as I have two qualifications for being a bagel aficionado 1) I’m from New York 2) I basically lived on bagels for about 6 years of my life. 🙂

14 Matt May 3, 2010 at 1:13 pm

I hate air travel! Always so unreliable…

15 Sana May 3, 2010 at 1:15 pm

I hope you get back soon!

16 NYCRunnerGirl May 3, 2010 at 1:18 pm

So frustrating! Delays are almost inevitable. Get home safely!

17 Kelly May 3, 2010 at 1:21 pm

Being delayed is the worst!

18 thewhatkateateblog May 3, 2010 at 1:22 pm

Hope your delay isnt totally wretched! Nothing like an end to a relaxing vaca than a bummer of a delay!

19 theprocessofhealing May 3, 2010 at 1:28 pm

Sending positive thoughts your way!

20 kamadavitta May 3, 2010 at 1:33 pm

Very frustrating! Nothing like a little adventure to end your trip. 😉 Get home safe!

21 Jocelyn @ Peace.Love.Nutrition May 3, 2010 at 1:37 pm

Seems like you had a great vacation!! I love when I have a full row on a plane. I lucked out when I flew to India and had an entire row to myself! Unfortuniately on the way home it wasn’t the same- I was next to a crying and sick 3 year old!

22 jen trinque @ recipes for creativity May 3, 2010 at 2:28 pm

Aw, sorry you’re delayed, but I bet you’re home by the time I hit send on this comment!

23 Carolyn @ May 3, 2010 at 2:40 pm

Hope you made it home okay!!

24 Michelle May 3, 2010 at 2:49 pm

Wow that sounds like a fabulous red eye. I have never lucked out on red eyes. I get super sleep deprived and get really nauseous and start shaking. It’s absolutely awful. But I hope you get home safely!

25 kalli@fitandfortysomething May 3, 2010 at 3:52 pm

welcome home! glad you had such a great time 🙂

26 runningwithsass May 3, 2010 at 4:05 pm

ug! this is why i hate flying and non-direct flights, BOO!

27 missyrayn May 3, 2010 at 4:09 pm

I’m glad you had the opportunity to sleep. I have a hard time sleeping on flights so I try to avoid the red eye.

I hope you are safely home now.

28 amanda May 3, 2010 at 4:24 pm

Sucks about your delay, hope you made it home okay. 🙂

29 Christina May 3, 2010 at 5:24 pm

That is a really thin bagel! You need a New York one 🙂 Hope your flight takes off ASAP!

30 caronae May 3, 2010 at 7:48 pm

Thin bagels are the worst — if I’m gonna have one, it might as well be nice and fluffy. Safe travels!

31 Katherine: What About Summer? May 3, 2010 at 7:59 pm

32 Amanda @ Cakes and Ale May 3, 2010 at 8:03 pm

Ah, modern day air travel… always fun, no? 🙂

I always love taking a long, hot shower after a day of traveling… that and a big bowl of ice cream!

33 Simply Life May 3, 2010 at 8:07 pm

Yum, that bagel looks perfect!

34 Melissa @ For the Love of Health May 3, 2010 at 9:00 pm
