PARRRTTYYYY!!!
What happens in New Orleans, stays in New Orleans right?? 😉
The rest of the conference was a breeze. All of our morning sessions went smoothly and thankfully there weren’t any glitches.
Since we were ending the conference with a late lunch, we set up a mid-morning break for the attendees featuring beignets.
I had one and it didn’t even compare to the Cafe Du Monde Beignets I had tried the other day.
Not even close.
Before we knew it, it was time for the buffet.
I have to say I have been pretty impressed with our hotel’s catering service. The food was delicious both days and everyone raved about it.
I tried to fill my plate with as many veggies as I could.
FInally the event came to an end with a slideshow I had created of all the pictures I took over the past couple of days and a few fun giveaways.
It was almost sad to watch all of our clients go. It was nice to get to know these great people in person and not just on the phone. Everyone was trying to guess where next year’s event is going to be, but honestly we still have no clue! We’ll leave that decision until we’re back in the office on Monday. 🙂
A couple of co-workers and I celebrated our successful conference with a drink at the hotel bar.
I had a glass of cab, it was fab! 🙂
One thing I love about New Orleans is how walker friendly it is. We always try to pick cities where out attendees have no need to rent a car and New Orleans fit the bill perfectly. And even if things are not within walking distance, Ne Orleans offers a trolley service that goes up and down different streets in the city.
A large group of us took the trolley to dinner last night.
The French Quarter Festival is happening this weekend and we wanted the restaurant away from the large crowds of the French Quarter. A lot of people had highly recommended Mendinas, which was just a short trolley ride away.
Of course there was a wait, so we all grabbed some drinks at the bar.
I had another Abita Amber at dinner. I really enjoyed this beer. 🙂
The menu at Mendinas was not health friendly at all. Everything was fried or plain and boring. Someone had said their trout almondine was amazing and even though I had no idea what trout almondine was, I ordered it and hoped for the best.
Ughh… not impressed. It was fried trout covered in gravy and almond slices. 🙁 This was not a Meghann friendly meal. I hate about 1/4 of it and stole some fried shrimp off of a co-worker’s plate.
I did finish off the green beans that came on the side.
Thankfully our server had suggested a great italian bakery for dessert and it more than made up for my lackluster dinner.
Hello Gelato!!!
I ordered a small cone of Praline Gelato and it was fabulous!
All day I had heard stories of co-workers who had gone out on Thursday night and really partied it up on bourbon street. It sounded like they had a blast and I was determined to let loose and join the party tonight.
Like I said above “What Happens in New Orleans, Stays in New Orleans.” 😉
I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache – ok, my head is throbbing – but it was totally worth it. I had so much fun cutting loose with co-workers and I wouldn’t trade it for a second.
Derek and I have reservations this morning for breakfast and then we are off to explore the French Quarter Festival.
Have a great Saturday everyon!!
