Thank you for all of your wonderful advice with my ‘pain in the neck’ situation.

This morning I googled some neck stretches and discovered this great set of stretches at Men’s Health online (found here). I also stopped at Walgreens on the way back from lunch to pick up some heating pads and made it as far as the check out line before discovering my wallet was missing. I had taken it out to order something online (online shopping is becoming a bad habit of mine!) last night and forgot to put it back. I guess I will just have to wait until after work to give those babies a go!

The stretching is helping through, I already feel a huge difference.

Oh, and for the record the only time my neck bothered me on my run was when I tried to turn my head. If it was a continuous pain or I thought something was seriously wrong besides just sleeping funky, then I would have not even attempted to run at all. I promise I’m not that crazy. And if the pain does continue I promise not to push it. 🙂

My snack this morning consisted of a mix of dried kiwi, pineapple and mango.

Lunch was left overs.

About 1/3 of the pizza I had last night. Not the prettiest pizza I’ve ever made, but it’s good.

Some people were commenting on the lentils and honestly I forgot they were there as I was eating the pizza. I find that lentils on their own have very little flavor, so they just kind of blend in. I added them more for their nutritious value rather than for what their taste or texture would bring to the pizza.

Left over massaged kale salad

And a big juicy slice of cantaloupe

I saved the cantaloupe for last and ate it like dessert. It was so refreshing to cleanse my pallet with after the meal. 🙂

It is such a beautiful day outside today! Its in the 70s and the sun is shining bright – absolutely perfect Florida weather! Too bad I’m stuck inside all day, but at least I can still enjoy it a little with my new window.

Hope the sun is shining where you are too!

70’s? I’m sooo jealous! Then again, I don’t mind watching the fluffy snow fall here

2 Hangry Pants January 19, 2010 at 2:51 pm

Just looked out the window – no sun.

3 megzzwinsatlife January 19, 2010 at 2:52 pm

New York is cloudy… I really am jealous of your Florida weather!

Ahhh Florida weather…I’m jealous! Luckily I have a plane ticket booked to Tampa in March to visit my fam. We should try have a blogger meet-up the week I’m there! Would LOVE to meet you and other bloggers! 🙂

I love a big piece of fruit for dessert! And it doesn’t matter what the food looks like as long as it tastes good. 😉

ah the sun is out here and it is beautiful! (minus the earthquake we felt this morning!)
Glad you’re neck is feeling better …enjoy the rest of your day!

I’m not jealous of your weather (because I live in the Caribbean and it’s always nice here) but I’m MOST jealous of your pizza–looks so tasty, and I can’t get jalapenos for love nor money down here!

I’m so jealous of your FL weather – I was down there from the 7th-14th of January visiting my mom and grandmom, and it SNOWED. But I’ll be back in March, June, August and January (Disney marathon!) so FL can redeem itself.

The neck cricks get me too – if you have The Stick, it does help. Just keep it away from vital areas! A nice hot shower helps too… hope you’re all healed up asap!

I wish I could count fruit as dessert, but unfortunately my mind doesn’t work that way. it still wants “real” dessert 🙂

10 Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg January 19, 2010 at 3:27 pm

Mmmmm…NOTHING better than leftover pizza 🙂

Except leftover pizza and warm weather in January 🙂

11 Karla January 19, 2010 at 3:29 pm

I’m so jealous of 70 degrees! It’s 30 here 🙁 not as fun. I’m trying to convince myself to get my butt to the gym but I have no desire to leave my house!

12 Heather (Heather's Dish) January 19, 2010 at 3:29 pm

oh wow, what a perfect day! the pizza looks amazing…i think that lentils have an almost peppery flavor, but that works so well with pizza…it’s just makes sense!

13 sunnytropic January 19, 2010 at 3:36 pm

Hope your neck feels better!

PS Where do you get the dried kiwi; it looks delicious and I’ve never seen it before!

14 eaternotarunner January 19, 2010 at 3:40 pm

SO jealous of your weather!

15 Molly @vegandorm January 19, 2010 at 3:40 pm

Its 70 and sunny here in Houston too – this is my first winter someplace warm and I’m loving it!

16 suzanne January 19, 2010 at 3:44 pm

Glad the stretching is working 🙂

17 Ashley January 19, 2010 at 3:47 pm

I wish it was sunny at 70 degrees……instead it’s been snowing all day up here in New Hampshire 😉

18 Amy January 19, 2010 at 3:50 pm

Ooohhhh… I hate accidently leaving the wallet at home! Once that happened to me when I specifically made a trip out to get some ice cream! I was really frustrated for about 15 minutes, then realized I probably didn’t need it anyways. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise?? 🙂

19 weightwatchersforone January 19, 2010 at 4:01 pm

Jealous of your nice weather it’s snowing here in Boston. Hopefully those heating pads work for you, a crink in the neck sucks!

20 Marissa January 19, 2010 at 4:09 pm

Frozen fruit is the only thing getting me through my month of no sweets!!!

21 Deva (Voracious Vorilee) January 19, 2010 at 4:11 pm

No sun here, but it’s not in the twenties, so I can roll with it!

22 Marianne January 19, 2010 at 4:19 pm

The pizza looks so yummy, I’m going to have to try the crust you made! Well done for running through the neck pain – I feel completely incapacitated when I get a sore neck from sleeping wrong!

23 Jasmine @ Eat Move Write January 19, 2010 at 4:22 pm

I wish it was beautiful here. Rain rain rain.

That pizza doesn’t look bad. Pretty yummy looking if you ask me.

24 Darci January 19, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Meghann – I do the same thing all the time when I shop online!! 😉

And guess what…leftovers are in order for my lunch today too!! Gotta clean out the fridge!

25 Janna January 19, 2010 at 4:36 pm

Love, love, love your blog! Try Tiger Balm patches, you will not regret it. I use them for sore muscles, cramps, etc. You can get them at most drug stores. Hopefully they help!

26 Caitlin January 19, 2010 at 4:46 pm

I need to find myself some dried kiwi! they look awesome!

27 foodfitnessandfreya January 19, 2010 at 4:59 pm

I so need to make pizza at home, then I might actually like it!

28 Ali January 19, 2010 at 4:59 pm

Ugh, it is freezing and snowing that really wet snow here! Not a fan, I am so jealous of your nice weather!!! Stupid question, does it get dark early there too, like it does in Boston? We get dark around 4:00-4:15ish.

29 roselynphillips January 19, 2010 at 5:05 pm

Its 62 and gorgeous over here in Pensacola. 😉

30 adrienmelaine January 19, 2010 at 5:05 pm

34 Matt January 19, 2010 at 6:21 pm

Have you thought about using a foam roller on your neck? I have used it on my back with a lot of success. It can’t be too much different for a neck right?

35 Jenna January 19, 2010 at 6:49 pm

Great leftovers!

36 Gracie January 19, 2010 at 8:34 pm

Mmmm…I personally think pizza makes the best leftovers! And sometimes the messier the better =)

37 jenngirl January 19, 2010 at 9:07 pm

Oooh sorry about not having your wallet! I’m really bad about misplacing mine when I switch purses…At least you had some stretching and sunshine to help ease the pain a bit 🙂

38 Island Girl Eats January 19, 2010 at 9:19 pm

I hope you are feeling better. The heating pad sounds like it should do the trick. Or, try a hot water bottle. They work really work too.

39 Run Sarah January 19, 2010 at 11:25 pm

Our canteloupes here are so bad right now, I’m missing the fresh ones from summer!

40 Kristen January 20, 2010 at 9:06 am

Hey! So glad to hear your neck is feeling better! I have a quick question. I have been seeing lentils popping up on so many blogs lately, do these come in a can? The only ones I have seen have been dried. Do you have to buy them dried and then cook them before using them or can you buy them in a can? I want to give these guys a try and see how good they are! Thanks for the help!
PS I LOVE your blog! And keep hoping everyday Kelly comes back with hers!

41 Meghann January 20, 2010 at 9:17 am

Hey Kristen! I buy the lentils dry, cook them, and just use keep cooked lentils in the fridge. I probably make a batch of 1/2 cup dried lentils at a time and can get quite a few meals out of them.

42 Kristen January 21, 2010 at 9:00 am

THANKS! I will def try that ASAP!
