Boy is Christmas exhausting!
After unwrapping our presents this morning we headed to my Grandparent’s for a light Christmas lunch with my Mom’s side of the family.
I believe my little cousin Cole ate his weight in chips and dip.
I love my Grandmother to death, but lord help her, her idea of ‘cooking’ is picking food up from Wal-Mart and heating it up in the oven right before people come over. I know she tries her hardest though. ๐
I grabbed a small sampling of what was plated and ate it with a smile. ๐
We didn’t stay very long and when we did return home I made myself a plate of what I was really craving: left over turkey sandwich with spinach and bbq sauce. Yum!
Followed by a peanut butter ball and gingerbread man.
You can just call me Meghann the Cookie Monster during the Christmas season. ๐
While everyone watched The Hangover, I passed out and took a well deserved two hour nap. The nap was a nice little Christmas gift to myself.
My family was invited to enjoy Christmas dinner with some old family friends.
Peggy did a beautiful job decorating the table
Counting our blessings.
Food was served family style and everything was passed from one person to the next.
My plate
My little brother insisted on having a photo with me. I was honored. ๐
All of the delicious homemade goodies strategically placed around the counter were calling my sweet tooth by name! (I told you to just call me the Cookie Monster today!) ๐
Homemade peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses
Chocolate covered pretzels (I may have had two or three)
And an assortment of homemade chocolate coated gifts
I sampled the chocolate covered peanut butter filled crackers
A-MA-ZING!
And a homemade turtle cluster with s die of apple pie a la mode
Everyone ended the evening full of cheers and laughter. ๐
On the way home we stopped by my Uncle Jere’s house (Andrea‘s Dad) to check out his annual Christmas display.
He is locally famous for the effort he puts into his Christmas lights each year. While we were saying “hi” we saw at least half a dozen other families roaming around and taking pictures of all the lights.
He begins working on the display in October! My Uncle Here has way too much time on his hands. ๐
TIme to hit the hay!
I have an early run in the morning followed by a full day of to dos!
I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas!
GOOD NIGHT!!!!
