Getting Through my To Do List

by Meghann on December 21, 2009

I found a dog sitter for Maddie for next week!! ๐Ÿ™‚

It was getting down to the wire and I was beginning to think that I would have to fork over $35 a night to put Maddie in a cold kennel for the week. Luckily, Ashley came through with one of her co-workers who is more than happy to watch Maddie for the week!

The best part is she literally lives 2 miles from my apartment and will be watching another friend’s boxer the same week. Maddie will have plenty of company to keep her busy while I am away. ๐Ÿ™‚

Finding a dog sitter for Maddie was just one more thing I can happily cross off of my to do list.

I can also cross off restocking my supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and yogurt. Thank God!

I bought just enough yogurt to last the next couple of days and immediately broke into the supply as soon as I got it home.

Pumpkin yogurt (plain yogurt mixed with canned pumpkin and pumpkin spices) topped with granola and pom. Yum!

Unfortunately during my short trip to the store I failed to pick up any other food item besides yogurt. I am determined to eat my fridge before I head out of town.

So instead of putting together anything creative for dinner, I simply threw a hodge podge of left overs on top of spinach and called it a salad.

pumpkin spiced chickpeas, roasted potatoes, beets, swiss cheese, tomato, artichoke hearts, and olives drizzled with balsalmic vinegar

Dessert was a serving of egg nog ice cream with christmas pretzels

I love how festive the pretzels make my ice cream look. ๐Ÿ™‚

One day of work down – two more to go! Yippeee!!

It’s always so fun heading into the holidays — now, just to make the work days go a little more quickly! ๐Ÿ˜‰

glad you find a nice place for maddie to stay! only 2 more work days…you can do it!

I can’t believe kennels are so expensive! I’ve never had to use one, because my mom takes care of my dogs when I leave town. $35 is crazy unless it’s some sort of luxurious dog spa, haha.

Great idea for yogurt! And the salad looks great too, we’re in the same boat of eating the fridge before leaving town. So glad you found someone to take of the sweet puppy though!

I am going to have to try this pumpkin yogurt mixture – I have both pumpkin and plain Oikos in my fridge – YUM!

I think today is the oatmeal post day! Everyone I know has posted about their delicious oatmeals! Yours looks awesome and I like the creativity and color with the bowl, it makes the meal look that much more appealing!

I put pumpkin butter in my yogurt since pumpkin pie stoneyfield is only a myth that other food bloggers taunt me with ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad you found a sitter! Only 2 days to go!

Yay for finding Maddie a sitter!!
That salad-ish meal looks super tasty.
Glad you’re powering through your to-do list:)

haha I know what you mean about eating down your fridge, and pretty much anything thrown together can be called a salad!!

22 Quinn December 22, 2009 at 10:34 am

Awesome for finding a dogsitter, but I’m with you – I hate coughing up money for that sort of thing. Luckily we’ve always timed our vacays where we can give Thumper to friends or bring him with us. But, $35 for a sitter isn’t too bad – I’ve heard some that are like $80.

LOVING the festive ice cream!

p.s. If I could, I’d TOTALLY dog sit your pup ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh and, thanks again for your genuine comments. I value and appreciate your words of encouragement.

Have a great day– don’t forget, it is the most wonderful time of the year
