Busy Working Bee

by Meghann on November 4, 2009

I sound like a broken record lately mentioning how busy work is, but it truly has been very busy. My morning was packed with research, data pulling, and meetings. Thursday afternoon can not come soon enough!

Around 10:30 I broke into a Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Pure Bar to snack on.

I wasn’t sure if I was actually hungry or just looking to take a break from work. I decided to start with half and see what I felt like.

I managed two bites before realizing the bar was not good at all. What didn’t make it in my stomach immediately got trashed. I enjoyed the Brownie Pure Bar, its a shame this one didn’t live up to the same expectations.

After the two bites of bar I had no desire to try any other snacks. Turns out I was just looking for a break from work and wasn’t actually hungry. Lesson learned. 😉

Around 1:00 my hunger did return and I dashed home for a delicious lunch.

Left over Butternut Squash, Sundried Tomato & Apple Soup with Goat Cheese and Pumpkin Seeds.

And 2 defrosted Pear, Almond & Raisin Muffins

I froze a few muffins when I made a batch a few weeks ago. The autumn themed muffins were the perfect accompaniment to my autumn themed soup.

Now I must dash back to work. Only 1.5 more days until a long weekend. Yipp!!

Soup looks delish! Shame about that bar..
I know how you feel when you snack when you really just want a break. I do that sometimes too lol.

I didn’t like that PURE bar either. They kind of have a weird aftertaste. They taste way too healthy!

I love having frozen muffins in the freezer ready to use when I need a tasty carb treat! Hope you are having a great day!

good idea freezing the muffins! I’ve been doing that a lot recently. I love to bake so much, but we certainly can’t eat it all at once. so I store all my baked goods in the freezer and pull it out a little at a time to pack in lunches or enjoy as an afternoon treat. 🙂

Soup + muffins = perfect lunch! I have been meaning to try those pure bars but I haven’t gotten around to them yet. Now I know which flavor not to buy!

I wish I could run home on my lunch hour, but I live too far from my office. Booooo. Yay for long weekends!!!

I always freeze my leftover muffins to enjoy when I really want the rest of them later. It saves money and time–no baking required when a craving hits.

That’s a good idea to freeze extra muffins.. I freeze stuff like extra homemade marinara sauce or soup usually.

That pure bar turned me off of them. I have a brownie one upstairs I’m too afraid to try to eat!

Lucky long weekend! Those are always fun.

Ugh it’s the holidays. School is crazy right now too…

People seem to love those Pure bars, but I don’t really like them. I much prefer a Larabar.

I might have to make that soup for a work luncheon on Tuesday – yummm!!

Enjoy your long weekend and hopefully work chills out.
