I hate to admit it, but I can not wait for time to fall back an hour Saturday night/ Sunday morning.
Sure it means it will be dark almost as soon as I return home from work, but I miss having the sunrise during my morning runs. This morning the sun didn’t peak over the horizon until after I was done eating breakfast!
I know I will change my mind once the time change hits, but for now I say bring on the extra light in the morning hours. 😉
My very dark run this morning took me around a nice 5.5 mile loop. It was an easy run with no goals of speed or time.
Yesterday I stole a leftover Einstein Cinnamon Raisin Bagel from a meeting and brought it home to incorporate in my breakfast this morning.
I toasted half the bagel and slathered it with Pumpkin Butter then topped with an Egg White.
Loved this combination!
On the side I had 1/2 a Honeycrisp Apple with a little Honey Peanut Butter for dipping.
Daily Begging…
Don’t forget to get your daily votes in for the Sam-e Good Mood Blogger contest. 😉
I got the word this morning that voting actually continues until Nov. 6th and not Oct. 30th as originally assumed. This means we have an extra week to get enough vote to secure my spot in the Top 20. Please keep all the votes coming!
Don’t forget all these lovely ladies still have a chance in the Top 20 too, so keep the votes up for them as well!!
Thanks again for all your kind words and help with this goal!
Stay tuned.. I have a giveaway coming up in my lunch post. 😉
I am excited for the time change this weekend, too. We all get an extra hour of sleep!
Can’t go wrong with a bagel and egg! I hate when it’s dark outside in the morning.
I think that is my least favorite thing about where I live. It’s on the edge of the time zone change, so it gets light so late. It stays light later in the evening, too, but like you I’d rather have the light in the morning.
I voted!!! I am also looking forward to it being light in the morning so I can run too. May sound crazy, but I prefer running in the am and don’t feel safe in the dark unless I have a running partner. YAY for morning light!
I hear ya! I feel like I had to wait forever to run yesterday ( i get nervous running when its too dark). What a yummy bfast. I like the idea of the pumpkin butter with the egg. yum yum. Just voted again 😉
I agree. I wake up before the sun and I am so not used to that, it makes me want to go back to bed and I don’t like that
When i saw that bagel – i thought the egg was cream cheese and i was thinking HOLY COW MEGHANN THATS A LOT OF CREAM CHEESE! hahahahahaha!
have a good day!
There’s no daylight savings time in Japan. It sucks. It’s dark by 5 p.m. here… I HATE IT!
great breakfast! I still haven’t tried an egg/egg whites on a sweet bagel – I keep forgetting!
I hate running in the dark, so I totally agree, bring on the sun!
I’m already missing the long, light summer days! Why can’t it be light like that year round?? Makes every day seem so much fuller!

Haha I am looking forward to the time change too. I guess it is better for the people that run early in the AM like we do.
Hey question for you about running in the dark. Do you carry anything for safety like pepper spray and how do you see? Do you have one of those headlamps or something?
Or do you just live in a very safe area with lots of well lit roads (in which case I’m so jealous haha!)
I do run on heavily lit streets with lots of houses around. I run with pepperspray and always take notes when I run on which house I would run to for safety in case someone was coming after me.
Do you ever get scared to run in the dark? I never ran in the dark until I moved to Germany. However, a couple of months ago, a girl was severely beaten and killed on a path similar to the one that I run. Now, I really don’t feel comfortable running in the dark anywhere alone!
If we live in fear all the time it takes the fun out of living.
Yay to give aways! I agree with Nicole. I am afraid to run in the dark, plus my husabnd would not have it. We live in a super safe neighboor hood, but still. We have well lit roads and friendly neighboors, but you never know!
do you run with any sort of protection?
I much rather have it be brighter in the morning than in the evening. It’s STILL dark out when I drive home from the gym at 7:30 in the morning. That’s ridiculous. Plus, my photographs of my morning oats have been suffering – oats neeeed natural light! 😛
Einstein bagels are the best! So fresh and good.
That breakfast looks great!
Our time changed last week. I’m still not used to it, I wake up really early so I’m exhausted all day. Oh well, it just takes a while. 🙂
I like that you post the voting link every day because I would be too lazy to go find it in another post but if it’s right there I am sure to click on it.
I love that the sun comes up right as I am done running and I can’t wait for next week either so that it comes back. Running in the dark the whole time is no fun, but starting in the dark and waking up during a run WITH the sun is way fun.
I agree about running in the morning. I don’t get up as early as you, but I hate getting up when it is dark out. Good luck on the Good Mood contest. I’ve been voting!
I’m so bad when it comes to thinking of new combinations for food so I love when you post things I’ve never seen before! Yay for top three! (just voted for you again :))
Meghann- can you share what you use for reflective gear while running in the dark? Thanks.
I love that star plate — so fun!
a bagel with pumpkin butter and an egg white! sounds interesting but great 🙂

I agree! I’m excited for the time change for the same reason…I miss running with the sun.
Einstein bagels are great!! They have a cafe where I work and I love their honey wheat bagel because it’s only 260 cal.! Not bad for a restaurant bagel. P.S. I’m giving away two breast cancer awareness prize packs on my blog: http://lovinlosing.com/.
WHen you make egg whites, how many whites do you use? Are they from a carton or do you just crack your own eggs?
