Something Isn't Right

by Meghann on October 14, 2009

It has been a very eventful afternoon around here.

Poor Maddie isn’t feeling very well. I think a vet visit is in order for tomorrow morning.

Every 20 or 30 minutes she needs to relieve herself. Sometimes she manages to make it outside and other times I’ve been utilizing my Nature’s Miracle carpet cleaner. It’s my fault when she does have an accident inside. She has been giving me every signal necessary to let me know she needs to go, I just need to remember she doesn’t understand what wait 5 minutes means yet.

Poor girl!

A couple of Maddie’s accidents occurred while I was cooking dinner. She would do her potty dance and as I was prepping to go outside, she just couldn’t hold it any longer.

Despite the drama dinner came out really great. Luckily this stir fry was relatively easy to put together.

In a wok I heated up broccoli, carrot, onion, garlic, tomato, red pepper flakes, ginger and some pineapple juice. When the vegetables were tender I added half a dozen shrimp, pre-cooked whole wheat spaghetti noodles and coated it all with a bottled peanut sauce.

I garnished my peanut noodles with a handful of peanuts. The peanuts added a nice crunch to the otherwise chewy dish. Overall it was delicious, healthy, and filling.

Dessert was another pure genius idea of mine. πŸ˜‰

Warm Pineapple Ring Topped with Tart Honey Frozen Yogurt and Granola

I am never ashamed of my own brilliance when it comes to dessert. This was great!

This afternoon I had a Chocolate Hazelnut Jocolat Bar.

I’m going to watch Maddie through the night and see how she does. If she keeps needing to relieve herself this often I plan to bring her to the vet first thing in the morning. *fingers crossed everything is ok*

Rumor has it the temps are suppose to start dropping tomorrow in Central Florida. Yippee!!!

aww πŸ™ Frank had a problem like that for a while. We took him in and they said he was have build ups due to the food we were feeding him. They put him on an Rx food for a while and then we changed dog food brands and he was fine. Yummy looking dinner- love the addition of the peanuts

Poor little Maddie. I hope that she feels better. It is stressful when our little guys are not well.

She might just have a UTI….my dog got one when she was a puppy. The vet will prob just give her some antibiotics…Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be fine!!!

I love peanut sauce! Once I wanted it so bad but didn’t have anything to put it on except a piece of bread….yeah totally rando πŸ™‚

19 Niki October 14, 2009 at 10:51 pm

Sounds like a UTI or Bladder Infection. I would take her to the vet in the morning, she may need some antibiotics. Hope she gets to feeling better!

20 Lindsey October 14, 2009 at 10:55 pm

I have a 10-month old puppy and that sounds exactly like what we went through with her. It really probably is a uti, which they can easily treat with antibiotics. Just a note though, if you plan to take her to the vet first thing it will be most convenient if you bring a urine sample with you since they will probably ask you for it anyway. It needs to be the first morning’s urine so if you call after you let her out, you’ll still be all set. Hopefully that’s helpful !

21 Annamarina October 14, 2009 at 10:56 pm

Awww, poor Maddie! I hope she feels better soon!

35 geegs23 October 15, 2009 at 8:54 am

Poor Maddie.. Hopefully it’s nothing major.. My baby (year old lab) has some stomach issues. I brought her to the vet this weekend and it doesn’t appear to be anything major. Vet told me to give her some probiotics so we’ve been giving her some organic yogurt which she loves and has helped.. Also we’ve found that pumpkin works wonders too!

36 Lindsay October 15, 2009 at 9:04 am

Sounds like a UTI, has she gotten shots recently? My puppy always got those a week or so after his shots. Hope you figure it out and everything is good!

37 Brandi October 15, 2009 at 9:04 am

aw, poor Maddie – I hope she’s doing better today!

38 Tina October 15, 2009 at 10:29 am

Poor puppy! Her pink belly looks so cute in that picture though πŸ™‚
Your dinner looks incredible–I absolutely LOVE peanut noodles. Peanut anything really…

39 Alison October 15, 2009 at 9:09 pm

I would def take Maddie to the vet b/c she might be dehydrated since she’s a puppy. My little doggie, Amber, gets very nervous and has the same “problem” sometimes and I give her white rice and pumpkin (from the can) til she’s back to normal again. I hope YOU BOTH feel better soon!
