These Boots Are Made for Walking

by Meghann on September 29, 2009

In honor of the slightly cooler weather we are experiencing in good ole FL – Hello Temps in the 80s and not in the 90s! – I’m sporting my lovely cowboy boots at work today.

I bought these boots in November of my junior year college for a friend’s 21st birthday celebration where we all had to dress up as Daisy Dukes.

Wearing the boots now remind me of Fall and all the wonderful things that go with it; including college football games, line dancing with friends, keg parties and the care free attitude of jumping out of bed throwing a baby doll dress on and these boots and running off to class.

*sniff* I miss college. Fall is just not the same in an office setting.

But anyways, I digress.

Back to food!

Midmorning I snacked on 1/2 a Sweet & Salty Granola Bar.

I meant to eat a Kiwi too, but the next thing I knew it was time for lunch. I guess I really didn’t need it then.

Lunch was some tasty Chicken and Dumplings left overs from Friday night.

I bulked up my left over with some extra frozen veggies and spinach.

I grabbed another Fortune Cookie for dessert.

When I was little I didn’t know the cookie part was actually edible and would throw it out. I obviously had no idea what I was missing out on. 😉

THANK YOU to Danica, Jessica, and Shana for helping me Make Strides Against Breast Cancer      🙂

I miss college, too!

You got a good fortune 🙂

I definitely agree that fall is better without work 🙂

Our high today is only going to be 64! A bit chilly, and I love it!

LOVE the boots! I need to get me some, although they might be a little out of place in Seattle.

Fall is definitely my favorite season – I love college football, pumpkin carving, halloween, and warm foods. Plus it’s a nice change from summer since I seem to slow down and take a breather.

Also, those chicken and dumplings look like the perfect fall meal – I’ll definitely need to make some!

Those boots are cute! I love your fortune! That’s a good one!

I SO totally agree on fall not being the same when you’re a “grown up.” I was commenting to my brother, who is still in school, that fall makes me miss college and that he should appreciate it while he can!

Love the cowboy boots!

fun boots!
My friend somehow had never had a fortune cookie until he was 23 years old and ate his first one whole not knowing the paper was inside. He must have lived under a rock!

i feel the same way living in texas- anything that doesn’t cause me to break out in a sweat as soon as i open the door is considered “cool” :). This week we’ve had highs in the 80s… its been lovely!

I have on my boots too because it’s in the 70s instead of the 80s here!

When you only eat half of a granola bar, do you just bring the half to work, or do you only eat half and then put it away? I always intend to just eat half but end up eating the whole thing!

12 Shana September 29, 2009 at 3:35 pm

I miss college too! Although I am happy where I am at right now.

The chicken and dumplings look really good.

I love looking back at old college stuff like that. Makes me feel old, but man, I will never forget the ridiculous outfits I wore for the sake of theme parties!

Don’t you love how cowboy boots are coming back this season? I need to pull mine out of the closet and dust them off! Love the pictures as Daisy Dukes!

I LOVE your boots!

18 Erica September 29, 2009 at 4:44 pm

Those boots are so cute! Josh and I are thinking about doing the ole cowboy/cowgirl for halloween and I’m excited….basically just for the boots hehe. Great leftovers

The only time I ever miss college or school in general is the fall.

P.S. I am obsessed with your boots.

20 Errign September 29, 2009 at 5:17 pm

I have the same boots! I got mine for 5$ (new!) on sale at PacSun…score!

21 Susan September 29, 2009 at 5:23 pm

Yes! Someone else who actually likes the taste of fortune cookies!! I’ve wanted a pair of cowboy boots for-ever. But, they’re not really common in Atlantic Canada 😛 I think I need to move out West!

22 chasingthenow September 29, 2009 at 7:11 pm

Oh no! A fortune cookie is a terrible thing to waste. I miss fall and being in college, too! I love everything about fall. The weather, the changing leaves, the fruit in season, etc.

23 Lori-Pure2Raw September 29, 2009 at 8:02 pm

Love the boots. Looks like you got a good fortune. It got to the 70s here in NC so almost fall like weather. I grew up in Florida so I know how it is when celebrating anything under 90 degrees!!!

24 angieinatlanta September 29, 2009 at 8:08 pm

I think I have those boots! Steve Madden!?

25 Derek September 29, 2009 at 8:12 pm

I remember that night!

26 Danica September 29, 2009 at 9:17 pm

OMG I am a total fortune cookie addict! LOVE them!

I am glad to contribute and support your cause anytime…..speaking of – I picked up your TJ’s Pumpkin Butter and some extras today.

Picking all of it up made me decide I need to host a fall Pumpkin-Y giveaway tomorrow 🙂

27 Lauren September 29, 2009 at 9:26 pm

Meghann, how do the nature valley sweet and salty bars stack up against the more expensive but oh-so-delicious clif mojo mountain mix bars?

28 Lizzy September 29, 2009 at 10:56 pm

totes diggin these boots lady! 🙂

i wish cooler weather meant 80’s hehehe

29 Morgan @ Life After Bagels September 30, 2009 at 12:00 am

Since I live in Toronto, this is the time for lots of boots, and almost winter boots to be exact.

30 Paige September 30, 2009 at 7:31 am

You inspired me to wear my boots to work today! I love them, but I just never think to wear them to work….today though…I have ’em on!!! 🙂

31 Melissa September 30, 2009 at 12:41 pm

Love the boots! Are they from Steve Madden?

Cuz I’m pretty sure I bought the same pair when I was in college and I was Daisy Duke for Halloween. Great minds think alike, haha.
