Oh What a Beautiful Morning

by Meghann on August 29, 2009

The sun is shining, there’s not a cloud in the sky and the high today is in the low 90s. Seems like a shame to spend a day like this cooped up inside. πŸ™‚

Right off the bat I took full advantage of the beautiful day and ran 5 blissful miles around my apartment.

I ran a lovely route that took me down a couple of major roads. I prefer not to run that route during the week because I usually run while it’s dark and don’t feel it’s safe, but it’s a fun path to run on the weekends.

On my run I was dreaming about the last Pineapple Chobani I had waiting for me in the fridge. I knew it was going to be the star of my breakfast this morning.

mmm… Pineapple Chobani with 1/2 a Peach, Strawberries, spoonful Flaxseed, & spoonful of Granola.

There is something about a bowl of yogurt and fruit that is just so refreshing. I have really enjoyed sampling the pineapple chobani and hope that it comes to a Publix near me sometime soon! πŸ™‚

With my yogurt I had a small wheat bagel with Low Sugar Apricot Preserves and Egg Whites.

I cut the egg white in half and served it open face for extra munching.

Maddie is still recovering from her play time with Oliver last night.

She slept all through the night and has been dragging all morning. Too bad I can’t get the two of them together every night!

My twin bro randomly came to town this weekend so I am trying to get some sibling bonding time in today. Looks like I all of a sudden have plans for the weekend. πŸ™‚

Have a great day everyone!!

You might have mentioned this in a way earlier post … but I must have missed it. What kind of puppy is Maddie? She is sooo cute – I see Jack Russel in her for sure, but she looks like shes mixed with something else also.

I’m always in awe of how excited you always are to get a good workout in! I think that’s definitely something I need to work on…

I’m DYING to try the pineappe Chobani! I keep hearing such wonderful things about it. Egg whites and preserves?? Sounds just crazy enough to work! I may have to give it a try sometime…

Have a good day!

I’m jealous of your weather. It’s going to rain for the next three days here in Boston. I’m also jealous of that breakfast!

Enjoy your day!

Send some of the beautiful weather to NYC πŸ™‚ It’s dreadful here. I had to do 6 miles on our gym’s treadmill. I saw the pineapple chobani at my local supermarket and was nervous to try it since I love the plain, but I think I might! Enjoy the beautiful day!

I think it’s funny that you think a day in the 90s is perfect for a run – when I left for my long run this morning at 5:45 it was oddly cold for Chicago – probably about 50 – and I thought THAT was perfect!

You got guts for running in that heat πŸ˜‰ Have a great weekend with your brother!

Last time I was in the Orlando Whole Foods they had both the pineapple and pomegranate chobanis. πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend!

I LOVE the picture of Maddie!

24 Kristie August 29, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Apricot preserves and egg whites? I would have never thought of that and yet I love the idea! A must try for sure.

Maddie is ADORABLE.

25 Julia August 29, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Hey Meghann, how do you microwave your egg whites? Do you stick them in a cup? How many do you use like for what you posted here? Or are you using a carton?

26 glidingcalm August 29, 2009 at 8:37 pm

Your puppy is soooo adorable Meg!!
