My Puppy is Back!

by Meghann on August 18, 2009

I don’t know if I’m still recovering from the weekend or what, but my throat has been killing me the past couple of days. I lost my voice from all the shouting and chatting and my throat just followed suit.

These Honey Lemon Drops have been my friends.

Mmm... these are pretty tasty for chemical laden pretend candies.

My throat may hurt, but my stomach is feeling fine. It happily welcomed the other half of my bag of trail mix I had yesterday.

Right after work I bee lined it to my parent’s house where I was finally able to see my Maddie.

My Mom had gotten quite attached to her grand puppy over the weekend and was having trouble letting her go.

Don’t worry Mom, Maddie is already telling me how much fun she had and how much she misses you guys!

As I arrived home, my Dad was serving dinner. Perfect timing. πŸ˜‰

There was yummy homemade meatloaf which my Dad makes using three different kind of ground meat: Beef, Pork and Veal.

As well as a Neely inspired Carrot Salad.

My Dad has a habit of watching the Food Network while cooking dinner. The Neelys were preparing a Carrot Salad this evening that struck his fancy, so he literally followed along as they made it on tv. It was really tasty and apparently very easy to make. I think next time I would throw some raisins in.

Last on my plate was my Dad’s famous cold Black Bean and Corn Salad that he made specifically for me.

I told him I waned something cold because my throat hurt and this was the perfect solution.

On the way back to O-Town my throw was still killing me so I made a slight detour to my favorite FroYo destination: Sweet!

I ordered the small Strawberry Tart/ Original Tart Swirl with Mango, Kiwi and Toasted Coconut. It was just what the Dr. ordered.

Alright now its time for bed. I’m so happy to have Maddie back to cuddle with me tonight!

Sweet dreams!!

I’m glad you were reunited with your pupsters! I forgot to post earlier, but I really appreciated Derek’s review–thanks for that. I agree that the McDonald’s is evil argument is getting trite–I appreciated his imput, espeically being a non ‘foodie’. Have a good night!

Man, your yogurt combo tonight is EXACTLY what I would’ve gotten! (Sometimes I beg to differ with people’s tastes, haha.) Tropical and delish!

That salad looks great – smart Dad!! I love meatloaf – how home no one makes meatloaf anymore?? I am glad to see I am not the only one that still makes it!

Sorry your throat is sore. I bet its due to a combination of running around, lack of sleep, and not enough ice cream. Keep eating that wonderful fro-yo because we all know, this is the ultimate cure for a sore throat! πŸ™‚

Take care sweet girl.

You should try Halls Naturals – they are amazing and I believe much less chemically laden.
