I’m happy to say I am officially blogging from Boston. Yay!!
Our flight ended up being delayed at the Orlando airport for an hour and a half. I’ve had horror stories of worst, so I am thankful for the mere hour and a half. Our schedule was still a bit tight so Caitlin and I were a little on edge.
We calmed our nerves by breaking into a gingerbread cookie she had brought for her bake sale this weekend.
I demolished the poor little guy’s head.
Once we were finally in the air we decided beer would help too.
Mmmm…. beer.
We debated having two, but decided arriving to Boston drunk may not be the best idea. ๐
Being a first time JetBlue flyer I was impressed with the selections of snacks and drinks. When the basket of snacks came by Caitlin, Kelly and I all picked the Terra Blue Chips.
The Terra Blue Chips were just like regular potato chips, only made with blue potatoes rather then white ones.
The bag was really tasty. If I ever have a hankering for potato chips I will have to look for these at my local grocery store.
When we finally landed in Boston we had to RUSH to the hotel, check in and get ready for dinner. We only had 15 minutes to get dressed and our suitcases practically exploded before our eyes.
Luckily none of us need much time to make ourselves beautiful. ๐
Caitlin, Kelly and I then met up with Kath, Heather, Tina and Jenna for dinner.
Even though I’ve never officially met Heather and Tina, after all these months of planning, I felt as if I were reuniting with my best friends. Planning this summit brought the 6 of us together and created a deep bond we all now share.
The 7 of us walked a few blocks to Petit Robert Bistro.
Petit Robert Bistro wanted to promote French food in a healthy light, so they offered a special ‘healthier’ menu for us to sample.
Of course no meal of great French food would be complete without great wine, so Jenna happily picked out a few bottles for us to enjoy during dinner.
I am not even going to attempt to remember how man glasses I had, but let’s just say it’s enough to say I am officially drogging at the moment. ๐
It was pretty late by the time we sat down and thankfully they brought great warm bread for us to share.
I immediately tore off a wonderful doughy piece.
Kath ordered a couple of bowls of Mussels for the table to share.
I had my fair share, as well as another piece of bread.
For a starter I choose the Vegetable Patte.
I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it was definitely different. I enjoyed the bits of chunks of veggies thrown into the patte.
For the entree I went with the Fricassee of Legumes with Orange and Carrot Puree which was basically sauteed veggie in an orange and carrot sauce.
The sauce was actually quite tasty and complimented the veggies nicely.
And as if we had not had enough food stuffed in our bellied, last but not least was dessert: Homemade Sorbet with Fresh Fruits Medley.
I wish we would have started the meal with this! The three different sorbet were Cherry, Apricot and Raspberry with wonderful piece of fresh fruit on the side.Yum!
Food blogger in action!
Dinner was so much fun and lasted well over 3 hours! These ladies are all amazing and we had so much to say to each other. ๐
At the end of the night half of us cabbed it back and the others walked. I love to walk with a full belly and enjoyed the .8 mile walk back to the hotel.
Heather and Kelly joined me as well.
It has been a long day and it’s only the beginning. Our alarms are set for an early rise to the gym and big plans of a yummy breakfast afterwards. I can’t wait!!!
