No Yogurt?

by Meghann on August 6, 2009

I kept my promise last night and passed out as soon as I published my post. I didn’t even have energy in me to read a chapter of my book or turn the tv on. All I wanted was my bed and my new cuddle companion by my side.

My IT band has been a little tight the past coupe of days so this morning I took a break from running and did the Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD followed by Level 3 of the 30 Day Shred. I am trying to get myself back into the shredding groove after a mini hiatus.

No groceries means no yogurt, so breakfast was back to the basics in my fridge.

I had a mini wheat bagel with almond butter, strawberries and ground flax seed on top.

On the side I had a kiwi.

Despite the empty fridge I seem to still have plenty of fruit, it’s just all in my produce drawer. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not allowing myself to buy anymore this week because oddly enough my freezer is full of fruit too. Funny how that happens. 🙂

Again, Maddie is the cutest freaking puppy in the world!

Hooray for fruit. I need to get to the store to stock back up. I love kiwi with the fur on 😉

3 Quinn August 6, 2009 at 8:43 am

Maddie has to be one of the cutest faces in the morning to see ever!

I’ve been out of yogurt for a couple of weeks now and oddly enough, it has made me use up so much more stuff in my house!

Maddie is so cute, I love her tongue hanging out 🙂

5 Whit August 6, 2009 at 8:48 am

No yogurt? No problem. Looks like a yummy brekkie anyway.

6 Jenna August 6, 2009 at 8:51 am

i don’t know what i would do without no yogurt at breakfast time! but i love how you always try new things and substitute when you run out of your staple foods! good job on not buying anymore groceries for the week!

I’m jealous. I have an empty fridge like you but mine’s completely empty of fruit too and I’ve been wanting it so bad 🙁 Tomorrow’s shopping day though, yay!

I just want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet so suddenly and unexpectedly is just the worst thing I could imagine. You’re in my prayers, and I think its wonderful that you’ve given a little puppy a new home.

I still have yet to try strawberries and nutbutter! I know, crazy right? I just ALWAYS go with banana. But you reminded me – i must try this ASAP!

25 ~carolyn~ August 6, 2009 at 10:44 am

Must be in the air, my IT has given me a little hip and knee pain since my half marathon. I am using the foam roller daily!

What things are you doing for yours? or just cutting back on running a little?

I know my husband might get jealous for me to say this, but wow I would love to cuddle in bed with that cutie too 🙂

I hope you are doing well…it has been a tough week…but it is almost the weekend…YA!

26 Allison August 6, 2009 at 11:01 am

32 Susan August 6, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Oh gosh, I went to the grocery store yesterday to pick up some yogurt and came back with SO much fruit. And I’m going away this weekend! Looks like it’s coming with me… Sounds like we have the same problem 😉

LOL I was gonna say – despite the fact that you seem to claim to have an “empty” fridge, your meals have still been amazing and beautiful! It’s funny what you can actually scrounge up when you don’t realize you have it!

I’m usually a “lurker” but that picture of your puppy brought me out to comment!! SO CUTE!!! Have so much fun with your new friend!!

42 Bevin August 6, 2009 at 7:21 pm

My freezer is ALSO full of fruit!! Great for smoothies.

43 Vicky August 6, 2009 at 7:52 pm

I have a ton of frozen fruit. I recently have been freezing all my bananas before they have reached the end of their lives. I freeze all fruit before its time to throw it out… makes amazing smoothies. I recently tried a golden kiwi with the skin on of course… you should try one when you are buying fruit again!

44 JB August 6, 2009 at 7:58 pm

almond butter and strawberries are sooooo good together. i had a strawberry/AB sandwich on an english muffin for breakie one day last week. it was super tasty!

45 Kelly August 6, 2009 at 8:32 pm

Looks like a very tasty breakfast! Where’s your lunch post sissy?
