Amped Up

by Meghann on June 11, 2009

Thank You for all of your wonderful comments about my hair! I truly do love it. It just feels so light and refreshing. I also love coming to work with a fresh new hair cut. It always amazes me how many of my male co-workers actually notice the difference. 🙂

Some of you were curious how I plan to wear my hair now when I run and work out. Honestly, I was thinking the same thing! This morning I went with the easiest route and just put on a headband. It worked like a charm. My head even felt lighter and cooler then when I wore it in a big bulky pony tail.

I added Billy Blanks: Tae Bo Amped: Fat Burn Accelerator to my NetFlix queue last week and it has been sitting on my coffee table ever since. I decided to pop it in this morning and give it a try.

Back in the day I was a big Billy Blanks fan and would try to do one of his Tae Bo DVDs once a week. His were the only work out DVDs I found that actually had me working up a sweat during them.

For this particular one I didn’t have the weight bar they were using, so I improvised with 3 pound weights in each hand. Boy did that make my arms burn! The whole work out was constant arm movements, so by the end my 3 pound weights felt like 20! My shoulders already are a little sore from the work.

After the ‘amping it up’ I was delighted to discover my new hair takes no time at all the style, LOVE IT! and celebrated with a bowl of cereal.

  • 1/2 cup Kashi Blueberry Oat Clusters
  • 1/2 cup Kashi Cinnamon Harvest
  • 1/2 cup Meghann’s Crunchy Mix
  • Non-Fat Plain Yogurt
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Pineapple

I love when the fruit is on top and make the bowl look so vibrant! I think the prettier a bowl of food is, the happier I am to eat it. 🙂

I have had the pleasure of getting to know both through her blog and in ‘real life’ for a year now. She is a beautiful person both inside and out and I hope her 24th birthday is one of celebration and happiness.

Welcome to you mid-twenties Jenna! When ever you feel old, just remember how old Ryan is and hopefully that will bring a smile to your face. 😉

Love You Girl!!

That is some good looking fruit – and I forgot to mention yesterday – LOVE the short hairdo – and quite the bargain! That would be $200 at a salon near me – at least. Definitely worth the four hours!

I’m glad you like your hair and that it’s easy to do – that’s always nice to find out when you do your own hair for the first time after getting it cut.

I didn’t get a chance to comment last night but your hair is soooo fabulous! I’m jealous and want to go chop mine off now! I don’t think I’d pull it off like you do though!

That BB video sounds awesome, I LOVE Netflix!!

Your hair looks great! Sorry you had to wait FOUR HOURS to get it all done! And I agree with you about a pretty bowl of food being much more fun to eat!

Have fun on your vacation!! Let me know when you want to run 😛

Hmmm…now you have me thinking about cutting my hair! I have really thick hair and it always feels so heavy on my head when I’m working out.

Beautiful breakfast… its funny though, isnt’ it? The morning after I get my hair cut, I always run my fingers through it and wonder where it all went!

Hey, cute haircut!
I LOVE the Tae Bo workouts! A friend of mine teaches a “Cardio Paddle” class where it’s constant punching or kicking a paddle and it’s GREAT!! It gets me sore everytime! 🙂

I love headbands! When I had shorter hair last year, they worked wonders, even during races 🙂

Have a good night!

I love Billy Blanks! I use to do his workouts every morning (before I started running). Have you tried his Ab Bootcamp? It is pretty intense. I love how motivational and cheesy he is throughout the workouts.

Your hair is adorable! Good choice. Have a great rest of the week and have a wonderful time on vacay!

Ugh you’re making me more and more jealous of your hair! I want my hair short so badly!
Sounds like a great workout, I love Billy Blanks too.
