Despite the not so pretty weather putting a damper on our plans for a poolside bar-b-que, today was a great day full of family, food and celebrating. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was running very late on the way to my parents house, but still managed to find time to take my daily calcium.

I broke out the milk chocolate version today and even though it was still a great treat, I prefer the dark chocolate Adora discs.

As both my Sister and Brother graduated from their prospective schools in May, my Mom decided to lump celebrating their acievements in one joint party. It was a day for double celebrating!

Unfortunately due to unforseeable circumstances my little brother had to have an annual procedure on his nose yesterday morning.

The poor kid spent the whole party on the couch barely able to eat anything. ๐Ÿ™ This is not his first time having this procedure done and he should be back to 100% in a couple of days. It still tugs at your heart though to see him in so much pain when he should be out celebrating with friends.

I more then made up for Ben’s inability to chew.

I started by munching on a couple of pieces of cauliflower dipped in the homemade bean dip my Sister made.

For the main layout of food my Dad had roasted 2 Pork Butts, 2 whole chickens, assorted veggies, ears of corn, homemade potato salad, homemade coleslaw, and some other things I can’t remember.

My plate had a little taste of everything.

It was all great and I happily cleaned my plate. ๐Ÿ™‚

As always, my favorite part was the dessert table.

It is always so funny to me when family members gather around the dessert table and talk about how they are not a big fan of sweets. Seriously? Sweets are always the best part!

My Sister requested my Yogurt Parfait Pie, which was my contribution to the table.

Love this thing!

The dessert table had a prominent strawberry theme that I could not resist.

I am not ashamed to admit I went back for a few more nibbles of cake and parfait pie.

I was STUFFED at this point and desperately needed to get off my bum and move around. After the guests left we took the dogs on a little walk around the blog and Abbie made a new friend.

This Snapper Turtle was just crawling its way through the streets. Don’t worry this was as close as Abbie got, any closer and I know that snapper would have had no problem snapping Abbie’s mouth off.

A nap was in order at this point and I had no desire to do anything else for the remainder of the day. I was still plenty full right up until we were leaving for a 7:15 showing of the new Terminator movie. I knew I would eventually get hungry though and made myself a salad of left overs to sneak into the movie theatre.

Half way through the movie I felt the urge to eat, but only managed to eat about 75% of this humungo salad.

If anyone is a big fan of the Terminator series I would highly suggest the movie. It was pretty decent as far as terminator movies go and I was very surprised to see Arnold’s pretty face digitalized on a very ripped body at one point in the story line.

The salad left a funny taste in my mouth, so when we returned home I needed something sweet to fix that.

Hello, Yogurt Parfait Pie. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I just discovered my parent’s gym doesn’t open until noon on Sundays. Booo….. I prefer to work out in the early mornings on the weekend as to leave the rest of my day free to do fun activities. Looks like I will be crossing my fingers for a dry start to the day so I can atleast get a decent run in.

I am wishing everyone else a dry Sunday as well!

After months of training, fund raising and bleeding toes, this morning I was finally bestowed with my very own Purple TNT singlet. In 8 days I will be one of many in the sea of purple that will invade the San Diego marathon and I could not be more proud! It is only appropriate that more ยป
