Two More Weeks!

by Meghann on May 18, 2009

It’s officially less then two weeks until my marathon!! I am beyond excited and feel that now I have the majority of my major work projects behind me for now that it should be pretty easy sailing until I hop on the plane to San Diego!

This morning I jumped out of bed with excitement, more then ready to take on the 6 mile run I had planned for this morning. It felt great to put on my running shoes and head outside to run, rather to the downstairs treadmill.

The first 5 miles I kept a nice steady pace and felt like I could keep going forever. However, after mile 5 I think all of the indulging I did this past weekend caught up with me and I got the worst cramp in my side that weighed me down. The last mile I had to do run/ walk intervals to keep me from too much pain.

Let’s hope the cramping issue was just a blip in today’s run and is not a permanent fixture.

After the run I was craving a glorious, glorious bowl of cereal.

Mmmm…. How I’ve missed thee!

  • 1/3 cup Meg’s Crunchy Mix
  • 1/3 cup Kashi Go Lean
  • 2/3 cup Kashi H2H
  • Vanilla Fat Free Yogurt
  • Strawberries
  • 1/2 Red Pear

So fresh and sooo good! Just what my body needed this morning.

Now I’ve got to catch up on e-mails and other work duties. Have a great Monday everyone!!

I’m running my first marathon in less than 2 weeks too! I’m really excited, but also really nervous! It’s going to be much pain for 4 hrs!

I hope that your race goes really well and that you prep well over the next 2 weeks. 🙂

The marathon coming up is so exciting! You seem like you´re ready to go! Do you have your playlist ready? The night before I ran my first (and only, hehe) marathon, I tried to add some new songs to my Ipod and didn’t notice that in the process I deleted all of my old stuff. I was left with only 10 songs to listen to over and over the whole race. It wasn’t too bad, but kind of a bummer. Good luck! You’ll do great!

Wow, it`s coming up fast! Cramps are the worst, I find they get bad if I run right after eating.

15 Marissa May 18, 2009 at 11:22 am

Sorry about the cramp 🙁

I feel like SD is totally gearing up for the marathon…I saw signs down by the Harbor, and I keep hearing people talking about it. 2 of my friends are running it as a relay (in 2 different groups). I’m really hoping my volunteer stuff comes in the mail so I can be out there supporting all you guys 🙂

I totally feel off my game when I work out after some indulgent eats, not to mention any alcohol. You’ll be fine! Don’t worry about it for a sec 🙂

Isn’t it funny how a simple bowl of cereal can be so amazing after a weekend of unhealthy eats??? I always feel the same way!!
