Tonight was my Team in Training Group’s Bon Voyage party!
With the marathon less then two weeks away we all got together to celebrate the end of our training season. The last 5 months have come and gone so quickly, I can’t believe it was all the way back in January when I attended my first TNT session and contemplated whether this goal was attainable or not.
With a little luck and a ton of support I have discovered the goal of running a full marathon is completely attainable. And along the way I have made a ton of great friends while managing to raise over $4700 to help those in need. Team in Training is a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it.
This afternoon before the party and before I left work I nibbled my way through some TBR Mystic Mountain Trail Mix.
And a Fiberful Apricot Fruit Strip.
The Bon Voyage Party this evening was a group Pot Luck with everyone instructed to bring a dish. I left work at 5:00 and headed straight to Publix with no clue what I wanted to bring to the 6:30 party. After grabbing and putting away a premade Fruit Salad I walked by the yogurt aisle and decided to get a little creative.
First I started with this box of Country Choice Organic Chocolate Snackin’ Grahams.
I emptied the chocolate grahams into my food processor with some butter and pulsed it until it was crumbly and sticky. I then pushed the crumbs into my bakeware to form a crust.
I then coated the chocolate graham crust with some Stoneyfield Non-Fat Vanilla Yogurt, Heartfield Cinnamon Raisin Granola and Strawberries.
The final product ended up being a Yogurt Parfait Pie. It looked good and I was quite proud of my addition to the food line up.
Fried Chicken and Chocolate Chip Cookies seemed to have dominated the line up, but I managed to find some yummy green things to fill my plate with.
I also ended up going back for seconds of my Yogurt Parfait Pie and a mini Cupcake.
I love mini desserts! This two bite cupcake was perfect for my cupcake craving.
We were suppose to get our shirts tonight, but they won’t be ready until Saturday. I did get a goodie bag full of my itenirary, tickets and other goodies.
We watched a video of last year’s race and it really had me pumped to run this years. Less then 2 more weeks and I just can’t stop smiling!! I can do this, I can run this marathon!! Yay!!
On another note…
My DVR is on the fritz and it only recorded the last 5 minutes of Gossip GIrl. Gasp! Does anyone know how to watch the new episode online somewhere?!?!?!?!
