Return to Cereal

by Meghann on April 27, 2009

Today I am officially back to my normal work routine in my normal office setting. As crazy as last week was, I will miss the excitement of executing the conference and the luxury of calling the hotel home. Luckily I get to do this shindig all over again when I fly to San Antonio next month. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was still rough to get up this morning when my alarm beeped at 5:30am. I have Team in Training practice tonight, so I am saving my run until then. Instead, this morning I broke out my 30 Day Shred DVD and completed Level 1. It felt like it had been ages since I have done level 1 and it was just as challenging as I remembered.

After shredding I also felt compelled to do Core Yoga on, only I wish I had just gone to be instead. Remind me to go to sleep tonight at 8:00pm in hopes of finally catching up on all the sleep I swear I have been missing out on lately!

This morning did have a big bright spotโ€ฆ the return of my Morning Cereal Bowl!

This bowl contained 1/2 cup Quaker Oatmeal Squares, 1/2 cup Peanut Butter Pows, 1/4 Blueberry Crumble Honest Foods Granola Plank, Grapes, Strawberries, and Non-Fat Plain Yogurt.

It was cereal as it had been meant to be. I love it!!!!

Now I have a ton of e-mails to catch up on and paperwork to process from my trip. Oh the joys of returning to work! I hope everyone else has a wonderful Monday!

Mmm…now I’m craving cereal. Have you ever tried it with cottage cheese? It is delicious!

glad you got home safely, and good luck with all those emails!

That is the worst thing about not being in the office. I HATE seeing a full inbox just waiting for me.

Good luck with work today!

I have a running question for you. Have you always been a fairly fast runner or did you do speedwork in the beginning to get to where you are today? I want to run a sub-30 3.1 miler next month but I end up training at a 10min/mile or slower on the treadmill. I need to shake things up a bit and definitely need to get back into running outside. I’m in Massachusetts so it’s finally outdoor running season. Back when I ran XC, I was running 22 minutes 3 milers but now I feel so slooooooooow. Any advice?

It’s always nice to get back into the routine after vacation, it’s the simple things.. ๐Ÿ™‚ The cereal looks delish, as always! Enjoy being back home!

I lovelovelove cereal too. I enjoy many breakfast foods, but whenever I go back to cereal, everything just feels right ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck with all the work today, and I hope you’ll be able to relax after all that and then running!

Yum! I think cereal tastes way better with yogurt than milk

hi Meghann!!!

Welcome home and just wanted to pop over with a casserole to welcome you back. ๐Ÿ˜‰ hehe I really WOULD bring you one if I lived close. Or at least some granola or something… ๐Ÿ™‚

Your breakfast looks great! I always hate making the decision between almond milk or yogurt in my cereal. Today I chose almond milk, definitely doing yogurt tomorrow now!

Your breakfast looks delicious! There is always something comforting about returning to routine. I hope you have a great Monday and stress free first day back in the office!

San Antonio?! How fun! Any chance for a reader meet up? I’m in Houston, so a few hours away, but if I have a free weekend and you’re there I wouldn’t mind meeting up if you’re having a get-together!
