Good morning!

You should be happy to know that I am filling a little bit better this morning, though the head cold is still there I am actually breathing with out the assistance of medication this morning. Lets hope this keeps up through the day!

It was still pretty chilly out when I got up, so I decided a run outside would not be the best if I wanted to continue this breathing feeling. So, instead of running outside I decided to hit up the apartment gym for a little speed training on the treadmill and some quality time with my new Self magazine on the bike.

Admittedly the treadmill is not my favorite, but I did work up a sweat blasting out intervals between 6, 8 and even 9 this morning. After twenty hardcore minutes on the treadmill I hopped off and did 20 easy minutes on the bike.

I wore my Garmin because I was interested to see the calories burned on the HRM versus the machine, but for some reason it was not tracking that particular statistic this morning. I guess I’m still learning how it works.

I’ve been very repetitive with my breakfasts this morning and I’m sorry, but its just been such a great combination. Atleast I’m mixing up the cereals I’m using. 🙂

In the Bowl: 1 cup Kashi Vive, 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Strawberries, Blackberries, and 1/2 cup of Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt.

Only a few more hours until the weekend, here’s crossing my fingers they fly by!

Food looks great and it sounds like your workout was wonderfully good for you. I have actually run 20 miles on the treadmill. I laugh about it now because I could never do it again I don’t think. I do all my running outside now, then, I did it all inside.

Yeah I’m getting the hang of my HRM too. Yay for an apt gym…must be nice ot have that available to you when you need it.

I have come to realize the only machine that is close to correct amount of calories burned is the treadmil. It is usually within 5-10 calories correct. All the other machines over estimate by about 50-100 calories!

I use a heart rate monitor, not a garmin, but I am jealous of your toy!

Never apologize for your lovely berry bowls. Oh, I love that kind of workout on the treadmill. So much more fun than just running at a steady state. So boring! Love speed intervals, and I think it blasts the calories!

You’re so right….TGIF!!! I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a weekend so much as this one! Your breakfast looks amazing!

Have a great weekend! I am about to buy a heart rate monitor now since I do not trust those machine calories! Hopefully it will serve as some motivation to work harder!

I agree with Allie that the treadmill seems to be more accurate than other machines (ahem, elliptical) with its calorie counts, since I compare with my HRM. But having a HRM is the best thing ever!

I bought my husband the Garmin 405 for Christmas, and I think you need a footpod to make it work on the treadmill. Do you have that? My husband didn’t get that yet, so he hasn’t tried it out on the treadmill yet. Let me know if you figure it out without buying the footpod thing.
